Managed the getting up despite a fairly hot, sleepless night; Mr N dropped me at C0sta where after initial struggles with the wi-fi, I got one of the webinars finished. Took friend plus her visiting daughter and grandson to lunch and the on to her husband's grave. The daughter had brought me 2 bags of gf flour from Australia for which I was very grateful. Realised quite late that the pub/restaurant we'd picked was one for which I could redeem a topcashback voucher; thankfully it arrived in my inbox only a couple of hours after I'd applied for it so that was £25 off.
Little else was done for the next few hours as way too hot; 34 degrees minimum in the conservatory with the door and windows open. Mr N put on wm and hung clothes out while I was asleep!
Come the evening, we watered greenhouse and pot plants, filled the bird feeders and did some dead-heading.
I have piled the clothes for the next few days away on the spare bed.
Boycotted zumba as it was still about 30 degrees at 7pm and the school it's in has no air con. A shame, but probably sensible. Did quite a lot of actions from flagged emails and did some drumming practice.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -

Morning all xx
Yawn. Twot to sleep last night. And then a loud BOOM at 2.25 am had me out of bed and looking out of the window for possible causes. Then laid thinking of possible causes: from a passing lorry, an isolated thunderclap, to the steelworks had gone up, or Hull had been nuked. Not conducive to sleep.
Considered resetting the alarm to 8.30 so I could ring in sick. But here I am: up, made my bed, dressed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with no lives lost, and I'm supping my brew.
I'll feed the birds, put out the recycling, top up the bird bath and hedgehog's dish, and water my hanging basket before setting off for the paid stuff.
Forecast here is cooler today. By about 10°.
Calling to see Pops after work. Planning to have an early night to catch up on all the missing zzzzzzs.
Take care.

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits.
Another in awe of those actually flying yesterday. I’m not sure that I did anything of note.
Today is likely to be less than nothing if that is possible. The breeze that we had yesterday has disappeared. Now we have muggy and cloudy. And hot, very hot already.
Like YL, the house has been taken over with student stuff. To be fair, she has contained it upstairs, and has started sorting. It looks vaguely like Sort Your Life Out here with the piles.Dw is running, wm is running - bed stripped earlier and another pile is lying in wait. Hair washed and dried to a frizz on its own, but it can stay that way. No way is the hair dryer or straighteners coming out. Currently trying to muster enthusiasm to clean the bathroom.5 -
Good morning. I'm posting a bit later today, but I've been to the stables to check on the horse and put it out in the field, fed all animals, and now I'm sitting with my cuppa. Not much flying on my list for the next couple of days as I'm still feeling groggy with this cold/flu bug and have exams.
My list for today
Do English exam
Check banking and direct debits
Do the maths coursework that is in the diary for today (need to get everything finished by end of tomorrow as I've got exams on Thursday)
Do paid stuff
Take the dog for a walk
Take DD to the stables so she can ride and feed the horse
Look into activities to do whilst on holiday in a couple of weeks
Delete 50 emails from personal inbox
Laundry x 1 (towels)
Take DS to his drama group
Go shopping for a teacher's present whilst DS is at his drama group
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday and hugs to those who want/need them.

Well the 1 million step walk has started, should be finished by mid September, I promise not to bore you all with it, but should have set off earlier today, very hot in parts while on the beach, there is no shade. Still made it.Text from Dr's to say blood results back, (blimey they have speeded up) it seems what ever was wrong is now right. (I still reckon I was given the wrong results, in the first place, and it has always been right, but no one is going to admit to it, but I am ok) and will be keeping a very close eye on results every three months when they are done from now on, gut instinct and all that. But I do worry there is someone out there with my correct results, who in actual fact needs medical help and may not get it.Flying I've cleaned the kitchen sink, fed cats, cuddled one cat.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Afternoon everyone. No flying done here for the last couple of days, other than washing up and the odd S&S as it's far too hot. I did do a good clean prior to the arrival of our lunch guests last Thursday though. Speaking of the lunch, the filo pastry tartlets were very nice, even if I say so myself. This morning I popped out to the shops and when I came back at 10.30 it was already 30 degrees, according to the car. It feels like an oven in the flat now and is a real trial for both of us. Wimbledon is on but it's too hot to enjoy it really. It's supposed to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow - I can't wait.Hope everyone has a good day and manages to keep reasonably cool.7

Not much flying today (one washload and a S&S), but I did make beetroot brownies for a colleague's birthday tomorrow with home grown beetroot. I don't usually bake but I did very well tidying up as I went along and DH was very surprised to see the only evidence of beetroot brownies was the brownies sat neatly in the tupperware box.
Off to the allotment to water now and then an early night - two late nights here. Wordle in 5 today. HPMortgage when saw the MSE light 💡: £85,000

Gym swim with friends.
Very hot voluntary work; I gave up at 3pm as it was too hot to think.
Went for lake swim.....29.2 degrees!!!!
Packed bag for 2 days away.
Hmm, not much of that sounds very fly-like.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
did kitchen yesterday…full level 3 and hallway got a mopping. Didn’t get round to bathroom though.
Was still v. hot but did jam second lot of blackcurrants. Wicker hamper offered on local group *fling* and sale agreed for collectible. *kerching*. bit of research done for tomorrow and email sent to MS society to tell them it’s dietitian not dietician. For those interested it’s from diet which ends with t so doesn’t follow rule like musician and electrician which have their roots in words ending with c.
Work today.

Morning, I seem to be having one of those weeks where I can't get into a routine, and time is just running away from me. So far this morning, I have been to the stables to let the horse out into the field and am currently sitting outside with a cuppa.
Does anyone have any good tips to prevent horse fly/cleg bites? So far this summer, I have been bitten twice, once on my ankle and now on my thigh. I'm not sure if I have a bad reaction to them or if it is normal, but I come up in big, painful blisters.
My list for today
Do the maths coursework that is in the diary for today, I've got my 2 exams tomorrow, so I need to get everything finished off today.
Do paid stuff
Polish the mirrors
Go to my tutorial with my maths tutor (got a double session ahead of my exams)
Review my essay for English and get it submitted, then that's another thing ticked off for my Friday deadline (by 10am Friday, I need to complete 3 exams and 1 essay, so far 1 exam done)
Take the dog for a walk
Look into activities to do whilst on holiday in a couple of weeks
Delete 50 emails from personal inbox
Laundry x 1 load
Remind DH to take DS to his leavers' party (can't believe he finishes primary school tomorrow)
Take DD to the stables so she can bring the horse in and feed him.
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today, not much flying on my list as I need to focus on revising for my exams tomorrow. I hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday, hugs to those who want/need them.6
