Switching from Now Broadband after price hike

Now Broadband is increasing my monthly charge by £3.00, but they've given me the option to leave without early termination fees.
What's the best way to cancel my service with minimal disruption while I switch to a new ISP, especially since new providers usually handle the transfer? Has anyone else gone through this process with Now successfully?

If the new provider uses the Openreach network, then the easiest way is just to sign up with a new provider and let Openreach sort out the transfer.Otherwise, there's nothing to stop you signing up with the new provider, and then cancelling Now once your new broadband is working. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
My worry would be if now say you have 30 days to leave penalty free. But it will probably take longer than that to get a new fibre service
1) £3 month isn’t much. In fact it’s normal.2) if you have to pay the cancellation fees, how much is that.3) maybe you need to notify now(recorded delivery?) you wish to leave in the future due to the rise and let new company sort the date out. Dunno0 -

That's 18 days, so OP should be able to complete a switch in less than 30.AndyPK said:1) £3 month isn’t much. google says
"NOW Broadband is increasing prices for existing customers by £3 per month starting July 4, 2025. This price increase applies to their broadband and calls packages. Customers unhappy with the change have the option to cancel their contracts without penalty within 31 days of being notified, according to Choose. "0 -
Did your email give a number to ring within 31 days if you're within the minimum contract and want to leave without termination charges?I'm currently on part copper FTTC with NOW and after finding there were quite a few cheaper deals available (all full fibre) I rang them and told them I was looking at other options and they confirmed there would be no charge if they are notified within the timeframe.Signed up to a SKY basic full fibre deal through Broadband choices for £22 a month plus a £50 gift voucher and as part of the order selected an installation date two weeks later.Almost immediately after signing up with SKY I received a couple of emails from NOW confirming they'd been notified of the switch and advising that no termination charges are payable2

Please can you tell me how long is the new contract with Sky and (if a landline is included) can you transfer your old telephone number?

Sadly that deal isn't available on B/Band choices anymore - Full fibre 75 is listed at £26 now.
Its a 2 year contract and includes landline on payg
Order said I can keep landline number and its listed as our phone number on sky account, so fingers crossed. I won't hold my breath though as plenty of posts online indicate that customers transferring in have ended up with a new number. Transfer on wednesday so guess I'll find out then1
