Hi all
Like Fayolle today was all about moving DS2, however in his case he is not coming home and is just moving house. This is where it gets complicated because he has to be out of his current rental on 30th June but cannot get the keys for the new place until 1st July. His housemate has organised a company to collect their belongings, store them overnight and deliver them to the new place. DS is worried that they might never see their things again.
So today we drove to the big city to collect DS and his most valuable possessions, which turned out to be a car full.
Now I have a dilemma. Do I drive to the big city to return DS and drive back on my own on Tuesday, or do we wait until DH finishes work. The thought of driving terrifies me but DH will have to do a full day at work then a 100 mile round trip. I can take the afternoon off.
Everyone is being so kind about this, no-one expects me to drive and I feel so pathetic! I sort of want to prove everyone wrong.
Flying? Erm I emptied the DW and refilled it. That's about all. I am volunteering in the morning which I am not hugely enthusiastic about.6 -
i’m sure there’s a song about it being too damn hot…
anyhoo I have found my Grandmas knitting and crochet patterns which I am listing, in bundles, on ebay so I have a lot of drafts as i want them to go live at the same time so that i can deal with buyers buying more than one effectively. And that’s quite enough effort for a hot day but i have caught up with the ironibg

Thank you Honey Bear6 -
@Valli - there is - In the musical Kiss Me Kate. Should be on YouTube to listen to.
@Roundtuit - Love the "Do a bit. Sit a bit." Sounds perfect.6 -
Morning all xx
@weenancyinAmerica 😊. It's going to be do a bit, sit a bit today and tomorrow too. I'm not a fan of the heat / humidity. It also works when I'm feeling under par, or when I'm not feeling motivated. Even do a bit, sit a lot means that a bit gets done 😉
I'm up, made my bed, set WM swishing with towels and tea towels, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in six phew, completed Connections with no lives lost, and I'm supping my first brew.
I've replaced the scrunchie in the shower too. 🎺 🥁 There are some jobs that I only remember when they're pertinent. Eg Get in shower, damn this scrunchie needs replacing, shower, get dressed, completely forget about scrunchie until the next time I'm in the shower. Ditto I need new bras, I need new jeans.
Yesterday morning I started a mantra: bras, jeans, scrunchie, comb needs cleaning, and added them to my list as soon as I was able to put pen to paper.
And voilà: scrunchie replaced, new bras and new jeans ordered, just the comb to clean. And I'll recycle the tatty bras and holey jeans when the new ones arrive. I'm feeling 😇.
Brew 2 anyone? Kettle's on.
Keep cool. Stay hydrated.
Love to all.
Rxx
Oo. Just remembered ( hadn't written it down!). Thank you for asking iona. Pops is home, watching what he eats: low cholesterol, no fried food, no spicy food, and attending his dancing functions again, but more for the social side with just an occasional foray onto the dance floor. This last episode has definitely slowed him down but, knowing Pops, that could be temporary.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I came across this thread when reading the Greenfly gardening thread. I was so pleased - FlyLady has been saving me for years and has been a real comfort over the past seven years or so. I'm so happy to find a community dedicated to the method (although I usually crisis clean rather than follow the weekly method!).
I haven't read the whole thread yet as I was keen to say hi, but I will do to make sure I'm adhering to the rule of mentioning Flying in my post.

Morning, It's a lovely sunny morning here, so I'm currently sitting outside with a cuppa. I've woken up with a summer cold, so feeling a bit groggy.
My list for today
Deal with Mr T delivery
Paint the fence in the patio Although I think it will need a second coat but will check in the morning once it has properly dried
HH me time (get a shower and get dressed)
Go to the stables - check on the horse, sort out the stable, as going to start bringing him in at night
Go and get sand for the patio area
Get DH to check my car as it's started making a noise I have asked him but he has been busy assisting me with other tasks today
Make sure the diary is up to date for next week
Lay the artificial grass and sort out the patio area
Build the patio furniture
Take the dog for a walk
Take DD to the stables so she can groom and ride the horse. Bring the horse into the stable and poo picking before leaving the yard. Didn't get everything done, so I will have a busy morning tomorrow
HHI
Sort clothes, bags, etc for tomorrow
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.7 -
👋 @HelenaPinky welcome to the gang 😊
Bath mats have been washed and pegged out.
Coffee next. Join me?

Afternoon all, I seem to have lost the morning somewhere.
Welcome HelenaPinky - I have been known to fabricate flying so that I can post…
Good news about Pops, Round x
YL - we had that same lease swap over issue last year. Thankfully DD knew someone who was staying put so they took everyone’s stuff as needed for a week or so. We now have a spare room of doom, everything is back apart from DD, who will be back for a fleeting visit tomorrow.
So DH has done the uni trek this morning, I did the piling up of Stuff when he got back. Wm is on, starting with her bedding. While he was out I managed to do remarkably little, faffing is my forte. I cooked some beetroots, mixed up some bread dough, made a vague meal plan for the coming week, sowed some spring cabbage. Now the sun has blasted through the clouds, and the temperature has rocketed. It bodes well for an afternoon of sitting, methinks.
I hope Iona, CoG and Narc0 are ok.6 -
Welcome @HelenaPinky . You might find that we (or almost all of us - I won't specify who) are more-or-less slightly bonkers, exacerbated by the current heatwave. If you can put up with our ramblings and grasshopper minds, you'll fit in extremely well. We are very lucky to have Natty and Valli posting our flying orders each week: some people even do exactly what they suggest, while others of us pick and mix to fit in with our own individual flying prioorities. Its not much like the American version of Flylady - it it were, I suspect that several of us (including me) would have been booted off the thread by now: we are much more flexible. For example, nobody has banned me yet for not getting dressed to shoes every morning. Perhaps they will, now that I've admitted my failing, but hopefully we don't take ourselves that seriously.
Great news on Pops, round xx
Good luck with your exams, MMM xx
Thanks for thinking of me, Fayolle xx - all is good here, except that the temperature is rising daily. I've just had two full-on days helping a friend, and I'm also still tired from all last week's travelling - but very happy that we went on holiday when and where and how we did, while we were both still just about able to cope with the tiring bits and enjoy the special bits.
My flying plan today includes clearing papers off my desk (wip), FUPA clean washing (pending), and emptying the DW (done). Rosie had to wait until 6.30 for her walk yesterday, by which time it was cooling down pleasantly, and I've got my fingers crossed that the same happens this evening. we had lunch at 2pm, and DH won't be home from wargaming until about 7, so I'll cook later.
See you all on the next week's thread. HelenaP, you'll find the link to it on the last page of this one, later this evening.
