  • Hello all here.

I am a new forum user (used FTLA.UK a couple times for the council) and I am faced with a similar (in fact exactly the same Parking Charge BS Notice) as OP. The exact same circumstances, but this one is much dumber and was very avoidable by the driver lol. After all, someone said in this thread that you're essentially giving the PPC a free win if you don't park in between the white lines, which in hindsight is very true, however the driver had their reasons at the time. *I will start my own thread soon but just gauging responses right now.* I have read all of the newbies guide (had it pinned on my browser) and I have firmly decided that I will not be bullied/coerced into paying on behalf of RK.

Location? Same, Gallions Reach Car Park, Beckton, E6.
    PPC? Same, UKPC
Time? Not the same presumably, 6:15pm.
Date? Feb 2025 (so 6:15pm was dark back then)
Shop visited by driver? Aldi, car park was virtually empty.
Reason for issue: Same, the driver was not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space.

The driver was not the registered keeper by the way, if that helps. Court claim has been sent by CNBC with Issue date: 5/8/2025 (date of service is regarded as 5 days after service, so currently I have 4 days to stop giving no f's about it and get serious!). I, currently writing this, am not the registered keeper but as registered keeper is old, I have been tasked with dealing with it as a close family member. If there any implications r.e this, please inform me. I've not received

Basic situation is that the driver parked in the middle of 2 bays, closest to the kerb to avoid someone parking next to them. The excuse of this odd decision, was because their car was recently hit and scratched in their work car park with no trace, and they wanted to avoid that headache, not knowing it would lead to this headache. The scratch and dent was visible at the time of the alleged breach of contract. The driver is young and inexperienced so this is why they did that.

What should I do in the mean-time? I don't want to clog this thread with my sobstory so expect a new thread, only posted here initially because to my surprise, OP's situation is essentially exactly the same as mine, but I didn't take action on it as I ignored DRP. Never received any NtK's from UKPC, with the first letter actually arriving being the DRP (DCBL). Unfortunately, I ignored DCBLegal's LoC but I don't think that makes a difference.

    1. Do the AOS now. See the Template Defence thread and the NEWBIES thread post 2 to find the easy Dropbox page by page 'how to do the AOS' pictures.

    2. You'll then have a bit longer to defend.

    3. Start your own thread.

    4. PLEASE bookmark this thread below and do the Public Consultation if you haven't done it yet. See this thread: -

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-8-weeks-from-11th-july-2025/p1

We need every poster to come back & complete this vital Consultation before the deadline! Just 2 weeks left but please don't rush it. You can do some then save it and come back to it as you have time.

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that.

Any questions on the Consultation please ask - on the dedicated thread - but I've covered up to question 20 already in that first post, openly telling everyone what I'm going to put and/or what sort of evidence you might wish to use for your response, if you agree with what we'll be saying from our experience.

Whilst your answers must of course be your own, there are vital points to safeguard motorists interests to make, that many people may not think of without our guidance because we see cases every day and we know the legal background. However, people like you have lived & breathed the intimidation, greed and unfairness first hand so your voice is needed!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thank you for the quick response, will make sure to do all steps and won't clog the thread up any longer. I'll wait for your post and read up/educate myself before doing the consultation. After all, best efforts are needed to get some sort of change in this scummy industry.
