I think the time spent on this conversation is much more valuable than the banknote involved.
I always keep the loose change from trips abroad (much less now as almost all my spending is by card). A couple of years ago, I traded the whole lot in (apart from Euros) with a specialist company which accepts current and old currency and got about £100 for it. I keep Euros so that I have an emergency cash fund for my next visit: no rush finding airport ATM etc.0 -
