Hi all,i purchased an item from ebay for over £400on the 22/12/07 the money cleared through paypal on the 28/12/07 and the seller said i would receive the item on 7/1/08,he clearly stated that it would take ten days to arrive, today ebay has removed the listing...

[FONT=Arial, Verdana] We'd like to let you know that eBay has ended an item you were bidding on due to issues relating to the seller's account. For privacy reasons we can't tell you exactly why we ended the seller's listings.

As eBay removed the item, you are no longer obliged to send payment for it. Please don't send money or respond to any emails from the seller of this item:

Item Number - xxxxxxxxxxx
Item Title - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If someone asks you to continue with the purchase outside of the eBay platform, we strongly recommend you ignore the request. Purchases made outside of eBay aren't protected by our Feedback system or buyer protection services.

If you have already paid for the item, we suggest you take steps to stop your payment if possible. If you sent a cheque or your credit/debit card information, contact your bank. If you paid for this item using cash, MoneyGram or Western Union transfer, we recommend that you contact your local police as soon as possible. Retain any emails you exchanged with the seller as the police may need them in order to investigate further. eBay will gladly help the police with their investigations if needed.

If you've sent payment but haven't received the item, please wait a reasonable period of time for delivery. If you don't receive the item, please let us know by clicking "Contact Us" on any eBay Help page and selecting the following contact options:
Buying and Finding > Problems with a seller or purchase > You paid for an item but never received it

contacting ebay through their help pages doesn't really help,so ive filed a dispute with paypal,im not sure how much the insurance was,or what it covered.

Apart from sending seller an email which i haven't done yet,is their any likely hood that if i dont receive the item i will get my money back

thanks pizza

The seller is no longer a registered user :o

Paypal protection can be £150 or £500 ,so it would depend which level was applied.
It is a problem as the listing has been removed and you now cannot see the level.
It something I never thought about.
Paypal will refund depending on the level applied, you just don't know which:confused:

He was selling three or four items at the time, and one item for just over £100 got good feedback on the 23/12/07 the day after i won the auction,he was very helpful with any questions about packaging, but checking his profile now and all items have been removed,is that because he is no longer a registered user?

I may be clutching at straws now,but perhaps with the amount of goods sold, totaling over £500 the seller has reached his withdrawal limit in paypal and is no longer a registered user because of that, and i may still receive the item?and thats why all the listings have been pulled?.

He wouldn't have had his listings pulled for that. Any idea what feedback rating they had?

Not really if he only has 7 feedback you are covered for only £150. YOu have raised a dispute. Suggest you consider esclating to a claim. How did you fund the Paypal payment. Please say credit card
