Memorygirl - I'm sure (well certain) that's your furniture will look every bit as good as anything in the Cotswold Catalogue (gulp !) -I get it through the post and can't believe the prices !! Amazing what you can do with a tin of paint and it makes the whole item more personal to you.
I've done a fair bit of re-vamping 'junk' (as some folk call it........lol) and I look at it now and think 'much blood sweat and tears went into that' then the memories come back of where I bought it, how much it cost ........could I swap it for something else ? No way !

Keep at it........you're doing so well...........makes me feel lazy............lol

Hi, another person enjoying the thread :). Though, you sound too organised for someone with a small child! Loved the pics of the craft stuff you had posted and Rowan is a little cutie, ;)

Hope you are having a good day, :P and keep posting.

Still inspiring me - so today I'm trying to make an ice cream alternative with all that homemade yoghurt piling up in the fridge, with some honey given to us that we just haven't bothered to use yet!

I think I need to get my act together and get my life/tiny flat all organised. I think everything could be much simpler if I was organised and tried to keep it that way rather than trying to continually organise the mess I'm in.

Thats it! let the clutter clearing, paperwork sorting mission commence!

    Hi Memory Girl,

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips - have been on Flylady's website and now receive my daily emails - very helpful.

Have started my control journal too although I'm a bit lapse but am getting better - must admit - I do make sure I have a shiny sink before going to bed :D

Some of it is obviously a bit 'American' for me, but the idea behind it is brilliant and so true - but I still can't walk around my house in my shoes! :rotfl:

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks, you've been an inspiration and looking forward to reading more of your diary and exploits.

    Keep up the good work!
    Denise

Yeah I know what you mean about her being a bit American - but still she gets me in gear and gong in the mornings - and I find that if I am up and dressed and ready to go I can keep on going.

If I'm still in my jammies I never seem to get any further that playing with the baby and drinking coffee - LOL

Hi Memorygirl loving your thread. Did you see my pm the other day ? I wasn't suggesting the Shabby Chic place as a replacement for MSE, just an alternative. You could see all the projects similar to your own. I still come on here every day too. XX

Ooh I meant to thank you for that link -its fabulous:beer:

Trouble is - with so mnay great projects to look at I might not make my deadline of finishing my own. Soaking up all the hints and tips though.

BTW there is a great dresser on there - and it's exactly the same as the one I got for a tenner. Hope mine looks as gorgeous when its done.

Thank you thank you thank you

Oh How do I agree!!! If I could conquer the paperwork mountain I would have so much less stress in my life - might even find the time to write the book I am being nicely nagged into writing.

I am having lunch tomorrow with a lady who juggles 5 kids and a full professorship - and helps her hubbie run his business. Either she doesn't sleep at all or she has some system to cope with that I don't know.

I'll let you know if she does:o

I'm trying to get organised so that when I move I don't have to move all my clutter with me - Beginning to realise that the only thing that actually works is getting the clutter over the threshold rather than just shiffling it around.

    Lets get flinging :j

My problem seems to be not so much the 'de-cluttering' though it was hard to make a start.........it's keeping on top of it..........cant resist a bargain, nor can OH so when someone gives him a box of records he just can't say no ! Granted I got a nice smart black shoe box into the bargain.....perfect for putting my christmas pressies in for posting to me son.........but where's he going to put these records ??? And when am I going to shorten the curtains I bought ages ago to hang in the kitchen.........along with another pair for one of the bedrooms ???? Oh dear me..........I need my brain cells re-charging somewhat and a severe energy boost ! Oh and theres the painting projects not yet finished !!! (hangs head in shame !!!)

Oh well, tomorrow is another day - thats taken up with visiting my disabled friend who's house is always so tidy it just might make me feel like having a blitz at the weekend..............I said 'might' !!

Keep it up Memorygirl..........eventually you'll shame me into actually doing/making/painting something and finishing what I start.
(nicely nagging re book .............:rotfl: )

Definitely - especially now as I often have to work from home. If I don't get up, get showered and dressed first, I don't seem to get anything done - rather I'm doing loads and getting no-where fast - it's just the shoe thing - I get the principle behind it, it's just hard to do it (think it's coz I can hear my mum telling me to take them off! :rotfl: ) Think I will give it a go though, you never know unless you try eh!

PS: Looking forward to your next update - I think we all understand you're busy now but would really love to know how you're getting on with everything (especially the dresser you're painting - I love DIY)
