Cable to connect router to printer

Is it an Amazon Eero router? if yes, then as you have found out it doesn't support WPS (to be honest, the Eero is an awful router).
I used to have a Pixma WiFi printer and though I think the model number was different, I got it to work by :
1. Connect a USB-A to USB-B cable to the printer and a PC (DIGITUS AK-300102-018-S 1.8m Length USB 2.0 A Male - B Male Connection Cable - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories)
2. Install the Canon Printer Setup Utility on your PC.
3. The PC should connect to the printer using the cable.
4. Go into the Wireless LAN setup.
5. Get it to scan for available wifi networks, find yours and connect to it with the relevant password.
That should be it, though the Eero is well known for being a bit finicky.
There is a youtube video here explaining how to do it - How to Connect Canon Imageclass LBP6030w Printer to WiFi? | Printer Tales It's a different printer but the software should be very similar.
If you haven't still got the setup CD with the printer you can download it here - PIXMA MG3650S - Support - Download drivers, software and manuals - Canon UK
If the printer gets "stuck" on your old wifi router name, you can follow the below to reset the network settings.
1. Turn on the printer.
2. Press and hold the WiFi button. Keep holding it until the power light flashes once then release the wifi button.
3. Press the wifi button again and it should reset the network settings.
Good luck!

Yes, it’s the eero router as supplied by my broadband provider. Unfortunately I don’t have a pc. Just an iPad. 😭
But thank you so much for the suggestion and trying to help! 🙏
GrumpyDil has made a great suggestion that should work fine (my parents have got an eero router through TalkTalk and I just set it to the same SSID name and password and all their existing devices successfully connected). Obviously it will mean you have to change the SSID for all your other devices - but I bet they won't be half as hard to change as the printer.
Hope you get it to work.2 -

Have you got a socket on your printer that looks like the one on the router which is for an ethernet connection.
The piccy of the socket you are showing on the printer is for a USB connection, not for ethernet.
Your previous router my well have had a USB port but I don't think there's one on the EERO router. Is there not a manual option for your printer to set wifi>Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Youo may still need a Canon app installed on iPad to use the printer0 -
