I know that some of you won't agree - but I have been with TT since 2001 and have had no problems with them. But now have a potential issue.
I have been told that TT do not offer phonelines on new full fibre unless there is a medical need and specific equipment is connected to it....
Whilst I am disabled and regularly am in contact with hospitals and doctors surgeries - apparently this is not sufficient to get a phone line connected !!
Anyone else in a similar position ?

I think it's becoming standard that broadband providers don't offer phonelines with full fibre connections. I pay about £6 per month for my phone service with Talkmobile.  This gives unlimited calls and texts (plus plenty data for me).  Would a similar arrangement now work for you?
Mobile phone reception in my flat isn't great but my phone does WiFi calling.  Consequently I've never had a problem with my Talkmobile service.

No - I cannot make or receive calls via a mobile phone in my house - it is in a mobile shadow - you have to go to the bottom of the garden to get a connection good enough to speak !
This is on Vodafone and previously three was exactly the same
What will happen to the hundreds of thousands without an internet connection and without a mobile phone ?

If they have a phone line now, they'll get an internet connection. They'll be able to connect a phone handset to that internet connection, where it will work like a normal analogue phone.
There was a thread on this topic a couple of weeks ago that went into a bit more detail.

TT (like BT) call it Digital Voice and this suggests it should be available to you if you want (and ask for the right thing)?
Digital Voice | What is Digital Voice | TalkTalk

Check out the TT Community Forum where they have knowledgeable users and staff (OCEs).

    A few other options:

    1.  Mobile phone WiFi calling with suitable handset and mobile provider.
Voda signals aren't especially good here and our Samsung phones on Lebara use WiFi calling.

    2.  Get a Voice over Internet Protocol adapter and port your existing landline number to a paid for service.  (Although the TT Full Fibre package should include a VOIP adapter etc.,.)

    3.  Check out if there's an alternative to 1. via WhatsApp, Skype or similar apps?

    TT certainly do Digital Voice.

On the lower packages your handset plugs directly into the supplied router which has an integrated adapter.

Faster packages that use the EERO router get a standalone adapter that connects to an ethernet port of the EERO and the handset goes into the other end of that adapter.

Who told you Talk Talk don’t offer telephony on their FTTP , it may vary depending on the underlying network provider, but on Openreach they do offer telephony, but TBH , even on Alt Nets , TT providing telephony shouldn’t be an issue even if other ISPs  on the same Alt Net don’t offer it .

When I made the switch Digital voice wasn't available it is now.
I am currently out of contract paying £26.50 if I take the same package it would cost £27+2 for the phone and then rising £3 in April + £3 the year after
Currently I could get a faster  package for £26 +2 with the same increases as above
It is more cost affective to remain out of contract but likely could not add digital voice
