I understood that most white goods should be left, for free. My vendor wanted £275 for her washing machine. As I'd had to leave mine behind at my property because it was lockdown when I moved out and I couldn't get a removal company to help me, I asked my solicitor to find out the make and model.
Turned out to be a 10 year old Beko, vendor said she had 'made a mistake', and left it for me for free. Stopped working six months after I'd moved in, I got a new one from John Lewis for £400.£216 saved 24 October 20141 -
I'm going through this at the moment with a place I'm buying, the vendor put down prices for all sorts of stuff, including fully fitted kitchen units (even the extractor hood). I have 'politely' enquired if a mistake was made and that everything would be left for free, and that as a minimum, anything fitted ought to be included anyway.
Let's see - frankly I am doing them a favour as it's clear they don't want the hassle of moving their old stuff out (currently a furnished let so they're not even there...)1 -

It looks like they dont want your goods unless you offer them at a good price if they are at a good standard, otherwise its your responsibility to remove them.0 -

So I am going to say 'I assume they do not want them. I will wait till the very end and remove them, as this buyer had be looking for some years0

@lincroft1710 - I don't think it is the law, I believed it to be an unspoken rule?
I read a post on this forum some time ago which stated that any white goods, visible upon viewing and in the photographs on Rightmove, should be left as part of the 'fixtures'. I also remember someone saying that if a house was turned upside down only the things that could 'fall out' should be taken.£216 saved 24 October 20140 -

If the seller wanted to include them in the sale, then the EA should state that on the sales particulars so a potential purchaser would know what was included and what wasn’t.I think it might have been me that used that expression as I have done many times!
I included stand-alone/slot in white goods on a property I sold a year ago but the purchaser specifically asked for them to be removed as he had his own appliances.1
