Who have you ordered broadband from and what type of service is it?
This one below is a standard TV coax plug that fits into the back of your telly and on the other end there should be an antenna in the loft or on the roof.

I’ve got self installed fibre from Virgin media.0

The box you took the cover off is an original Virginmedia FTTC box. Could have been installed by Cabletel or NTL. Adjacent is the Virgin phone socket.

Yes they did and they sent me a picture saying tk make sure I have a certain box which looks identical to the one I have.Does these connectors box need power ? Is there some sort of on or power switch?0

"None of the cables or associated gubbins you've photographed so far look anything like a fibre service.
Do Virgin claim your property has fibre already?"
@QrizB the threaded female connector on the LH box is the connection to the router for VM DOCSIS (coax to the home) service, which the OP has ordered, it should work provided the external cabling has not been disconnected by the previous owner, VM will have identified that the property has previously had their service as they are sending a self install package.

@explodingkitten1995 the incoming signal is powered from the local cabinet, so as above, provided the wiring is in place from the back of the socket and the signal level is normal the only powered device will be your router.

You can certainly get 1 Gigabit on VM DOCSIS which is comparable to real FTTP.
VM are also rolling out full FTTP in some areas, but the OP's socket is certainly DOCSIS.1 -
So the answer to the OP's original question seems to be:explodingkitten1995 said:Can anyone tell me if this supports Coaxile or fibre please? I have no idea what these are.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
