Evidence is submitted with the defendants Witness Statement plus Exhibits bundle a few weeks before the hearing,  not on the day 

The defendant must attend, regardless,  anyone else can attend in any suitable capacity, or not, so for witnesses is optional 

But on the N180 put down 2 or 3 if unsure, it doesn't really matter , but the defendant emails the completed pdf document to the DQ email address,  not the defence address 

As for information,  it's just 2 announcements at the top of the forum,  easy to find , the defendant is currently following the 8 steps,  it's that simple 

Once the N180 is emailed and logged,  compulsory mediation is next  ( its a process,  step by step   )

I’m aware that the advice is not to post asking about completing the form, but, in this case my partner is the defendant and I was the driver (not named). The overstay was whilst legitimately shopping, and the evidence is a hard copy receipt. Do I need to complete the form to include me (the driver) as a witness, to enable the receipt to be submitted as evidence?

Thank you. My question is whether my partner is able to submit my receipt, without my being a witness. Or whether he must submit a witness statement from me, and have me as a witness, to submit the receipt. Many thanks for all your information.

When it comes to the Witness Statement plus Exhibits stage, a few weeks before the hearing,  the defendant can add a copy of any receipt, paperwork,  photographs,  maps, anything they like, including your receipt.   You dont have to be there,  but your partner the defendant must take the originals with him on the day,  including the original receipt

You can add your WS to his exhibits if you want to.  If you add your WS to his bundle,  it's better to attend as well,  as a witness,  but not compulsory to attend 

So copies at the WS stage, originals on attendance,  he must attend,  for you attendance is optional
