@Valli such a lot to sort out, but how lovely to find the dolls house plans.Yesterday was a bit of a right off, though managed the usual level 1 kitchen. Weve been getting a tiny leak from the flat roof, OH has repointed the ridge tiles and it seemed to have been the solution, but high winds the other night from the west started it up again. Its well overdue for replacement - at least 30 years done by the previous owner. We knew the roofer was up at the farm, and they are quite fussy with tradesmen, so OH went up to have a word. He came down as soon as he'd finished for the day. Hes going to give us a rough idea then work up a detailed quote later. Hes really busy but I'd rather wait for a recommended company. Then while up on the lower roof talking to the roofer we noticed the oak tree had partly lost a branch. It had come down and rested on the rowan stump, missing the greenhouse by about 6 inches thankfully. So that was OH up the tree and me on the rope to get it down.I did a bit better today, I did get the kitchen and front room plants repotted (not the garlic). The cucumber, courgettes and runner plants arrived so thats tomorrow sorted. Then washed the front room windows and polished them, and the porch doors as "someone" has put handprints all over them. Its like having children in the house, I get a row of hand prints and a row of nose prints below, and no one knows anything about it@eltee2 I think it depends on my mood. On good days I pretend I'm at the gym, I'm targetting my left arm at the moment as its weak, so deliberately giving it more work, and jog up the stairs. On bad days it does get me down and I often feel resentful that its my job, without him and the dog I'd probably only need a once a month do. OH does muck in (hes better if I give him a written list) but his standards are way below mine, jobs I deem urgent, can be left for months or forgotten in his world. I honestly believe he thinks the bathroom stays clean for months on its own, he cant grasp that its me keeping it that way.8

I think I'll have a good day today (maybe saying it will make it so?).
Off to SW shortly - I was going to say 'off to SW shortly for more dissapointment' but I'm having a good day today, aren't I? 😬

just looked out of the window and the sofas and carpets have gone from the front garden…while I was sleeping.

Morning all.
sorry to hear about your friend’s gallstones, Valli - very painful. You’re lucky to have found such interesting bits of family history.
HB, I hope that Wren’s problems are lessening.
eltee, do what you can when you can. I have found that now my house is decluttered, it is far easier to keep clean and tidy.
I meant to post yesterday evening but was too tired. I’m waiting for a new desktop PC, and the old one has gone to my computer man for a straightforward data transfer, so I’m having to type one-fingered on my iPad, and last night I would have fallen asleep after just one or two sentences.
This morning I am still tired but have washed up by hand (I don’t like to leave the DW half full when we’re going away), PUPA and hoovered through downstairs. I thought L was coming early for Rosie today, but she hasn’t appeared yet. While Rosie’s out i will hoover upstairs too. I’ve not really started packing for the weekend yet, only putting things together as I think of them. We had breakfast earlier than usual as DH had a nurse appointment at 9.00. He just about made it on time.
Over the past few days I have done a lot more planting out and tying up in the garden, and I don’t think I need to worry about things being watered for the next few days! It’s looking very pretty atm, with roses, foxgloves, campanula and clematis going wild 😍. My runner beans have taken the hint and started climbing up their poles, and the tomato plants are sturdy and about 10 times as bid as when I bought them - I have hopes of a good crop.
Hope everyone has a good weekend xxx

Morning all,
I hope you have a lovely break, Iona. You are sounding tired, so hopefully the break will restore and revive.
Eltee, I am with Iona on the decluttering side. Once Stuff leaves and surfaces are clear(er), it becomes easier. Although living with someone who likes to keep things for Justin has its challenges on that front 🤣. DH doesn’t notice flying that needs doing either - the bathroom is cleaned by fairies apparently!
DH has gone out to source some fencing boards to repair one of the fence panels. Such a shame that means that there is no room in the car for me 🙄. He is planning a marathon trip, which would drive me mad anyway. So I am cleaning downstairs, listening to a podcast, and now about to have a coffee. I have had a couple of minor aberrations this morning already, so need to nip those in the bud - I have cleaned the DR window ledge which had water stains from plants on it. The plants went out into the greenhouse in about March, whoops. I have also cleaned the stained teapot which has been annoying me for a while - bicarb and a brush and it was clean in about a minute. Not that I procrastinate or anything…5 -

apparently the council lorry made 2 visits, and they knocked on the door to say they’d be back for one of the sofas and i heard none of it. Amtico flooring laid in hall, stair carpet finished and sofas delivered. I’ve gone from leather to fabric and am having trouble adjusting…Ifeel like i’ve been velcroed to the sofa!
Will collected but i had to dash into town as we’d forgotten a death certificate. DD has been given the ring mum wanted her to have but she had only told me, I did tell her to put it in the will but just a letter would have done but sis was fine with it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Got up 'on time' expecting to have moved off the waiting list for Pilates to find I was still top of the list. It's always a busy class, so I didn't feel like sneaking in and crowding everyone......however I did galvanise myself to do a lot of flying in the time I gained by not going:
- moved everything out of the kitchen which shouldn't be there
- wudupa
- one load washing done, hung out, brought in when it rained then later Mr N hung it out again and it is now dry. The load included bathroom mats so they took longer.
- all surfaces, windowsills and large appliances wiped
- floor swept and mopped
- various flower arrangements in lounge/diner tidied up as some were over
- plants in lounge/diner and kitchen watered
- bird feeders filled
- spent the afternoon finalising our route round our chosen London Gardens tomorrow. I suspect we will get pretty wet judging by the forecast, which is a shame as it is a lovely activity and there are a few new ones open which we are keen to see.
- ordered train tickets for tomorrow and picked them up on the way home from:
- zumba
- made us some sandwiches for tomorrow and we've laid out walking boots and overtrousers as we plan to get an early start.
Had our first few mange-tout peas from the garden for dinner.
Felt fairly pleased with myself driving home from zumba having collected the train tickets and felt I'd achieved quite a lot today, then remembered I'm meant to be doing flowers and hoovering in the church - which I'd normally do on a Saturday afternoon. Will see what time we get home tomorrow; failing that I'll have to go early on Sunday although fortunately it's an 11am service so not that early.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
There is no doubt that decluttering in January has made Flying immeasurably quicker and easier - because i have space. I've carried on clearing shelves, tops of things like flat surfaces that attract gibble and drawers since, rationalising what I've got and organising things differently now that I've weeded out the extraneous stuff. I'm still finding stuff I can let go, but I'm no longer counting each item because there's not that much and that part of the project is over. There's a shopping bag I really dislike because it's too big and ugly, and that's already full of stuff to be donated. That'll go fairly soon.I think I'll repeat the exercise in a slightly altered format next January because that Reset seems to suit me. It's when I managed to prune hundreds of photos a few years ago, none of which I've missed or even think about any more. This week I sorted out a cupboard that I want to keep some sewing stuff in which gave me three clear shelves and two items that I may or may not keep. My Room of Doom has been so thinned out that it feels lighter and comfortable when I go in there which is marvellous after literally years of feeling hemmed in by the clutter. There were two other spaces that had a complete turn out and I found loads of rubbish in both, so the bins will be bursting again when the bin men visit. The amazing thing that happened was that once I'd dealt with the greenhouse and the wretched reseeding of the bald bits of grass I had a couple of days when I felt free to be able to do what I actually wanted to do, rather than what I had to do. That hasn't happened for months so it was a great feeling. I'm starting to feel as though I'm not playing catch up every day.We put the greenhouse together this morning and it's tiny but perfect for both me and the space we have for it. It's heaving it down here so it won't go out into the yard until tomorrow so it's in pride of place in the sitting room until then. I'm looking forward to filling it up once it's in situ.Better is good enough.8

Not a lot of flying here, having an off day. Garden didn happen so I still have the corgettes and cucumber to do tomorrow. The clutter just builds up here. OH is terrible if he !!!!!! where to put an item, he takes it as permission to dump totally unrelated items there forever. A pile can turn up anywhere I just have to have a nose around regularly and make him throw it all out.You wouldn't believe the things I've found stuffed in the 2nd greenhouse. In fact thats going on his job list for tomorrow, he opened a bundle of straw in there over the winter, so the hedgehogs could collect dry bedding, and the remains are still in there.7
