Would this affect any benefits I claim ?

I'll be leaving my current job under a Voluntary Exit via Enhanced Settlement Agreement. Basically I leave the job and get a lump sum to do so. I'm also in the process of moving house, I was gonna to use my savings to reduce my mortgage on the new property. With this lump sum I'd be able to pay the mortgage off in full and carry out some maintenance on the new house as well. I would still have some savings, which means I wouldn't get UC but would I believe still be eligible for JSA.

On that point, can I still claim JSA even though I left my job under a Voluntary Exit via Enhanced Settlement Agreement scheme ?
Would putting the lump sum I'll receive towards paying off mortgage and maintenance / improvements on the new house being classified as deprivation of capital ?

You can pay off debts legitimately to claim universal credit. If you have between £6000 to £16000 your up will be reduced or stopped. You can claim job seekers immediately after being made redundant.

Yes you can claim New Style JSA. The Job Centre Work Coach might refer to a Decision Maker about leaving employment voluntarily. Potentially Decision Maker could apply sanction for 3 months meaning no benefit paid for that length of time.  Some people don't claim after leaving employment, rather than go through this hassle and within 3 months find new employment. And for those claiming JSA 3 months later as they had not found employment, if they provide 3 months of job search, unlikely that benefit would be sanctioned due to leaving employment voluntarily, as efforts made to find employment before seeking benefit help.

Capital does not affect New Style JSA, so no deprivation applicable. And under UC if claimed later, might be disregarded if money spent related to reasonable expenditure for main home.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

New Style JSA is your best option. It's unlikely you'll be sanctioned under a voluntary exit scheme.

I left a job through a voluntary redundancy scheme, but none of the paperwork provided by the company mentioned 'voluntary'.  It simply spoke of redundancy.

Is this the same  / related to your other thread? It's best to stick to one thread with all the questions.

When you apply for nJSA, you apply online. The questions are basic like
    Name
    Address
    Contact details
    Bank account details
Have you applied for any benefits in the last 12 months ------> No (im guessing these answers)
Have you done jury service in the last 12 months ------> No
Are you in any form of work at the moment ------> No (im guessing your going to make your claim for nJSA the day after you finish working)
Have you had a job that ended in the last 6 months ------> YES (next few questions will be about the employer)
    Name of employer
Dates you worked for that employer
Why did this job end (Redundancy, Sick, Dismissal, Left voluntary, End of contract, Other) you put Redundancy
Were you self employed or a company director ------> No
Have you had another job in the last 6 months ------> No
Are you getting money from a pension or annuity ------> No
Have you been in education or training in the last 4 years ------> No

They will contact you about an appointment within 14 days
You then go to the job centre and its an hour long appointment where you fill in a form called a "claim commitment" form (an agreement form of what you need to do to look for work)

You then attend fortnightly appointments untill you get a job (upto 6 months)
After 6 months of nJSA it stops (you can then submit for JSA-NC1 form and claim just NI Credits if you want to
