I'm in a similar boat to others - being transferred across I'm told.

It's a shame they aren't doing the switching deal to go to Edge if you're a current Santander customer.

I've already got a second TSB current account (just switched).
I can't get the bonuses for - First Direct (as I've had a HSBC account since 2018), can't get Club Lloyds (as I've had a Halifax account), can't get Chase (as I've had that) and I'm not a Nationwide customer.

Natwest account may be a possibility to switch to or Zopa Biscuit (but looks like they aren't doing switches in).

    Any recommendations?

Santander have IMHO, caused themselves a lot of unnecessary work by not offering 123 lite customers a small incentive to move to the Edge account, especially at a time when so many other banks have switch offers to choose from...something along the lines of double cashback for the first twelve months and £50 up front, or £50 upfront and another £50 on first anniversary if the Edge account is still open would have kept customers on side.

Most of the 123 Lite customers will either stay put in the Everyday account or switch to an Edge account. Only a small proportion of bank customers are interested in moving to another bank, even when they are offered an incentive that is bigger than £100.

Why have they created themselves unnecessary work?
An Edge account simply doesn't make financial sense for me, so I'll be letting it transform into an Everyday account. Its no skin off either theirs or mine noses
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

If they had incentivised 123Lite account holders to voluntarily switch to Edge themselves then Santander could have saved the cost of going through the process (e.g. posted letters/emails/texts) of applying the forced T&C's change to those customers....

...but I very much doubt the costs of a forced conversion would come to anything like £50 per customer, let alone £100.

Getting a free £50/£100 (+ the cashback) for a £36 fee for a voluntary conversion to Edge would have tipped the balance for me for the first year.  But I don't think Santander would have gained much from the deal.

We were considering a move away from Santander, this might just be the deciding factor.

Yeah same here was only the cashback keeping me really (boosted by having mortgage with them). Time to look at others

Hi can I ask - does everyone get their cash back on the same date?  Mine has always been 13th of the month along with the £2 fee - I haven't received mine this morning.

I do have a current account switch to nationwide which I set up to happen after the cashback was paid, but now wondering if that's effected it?

Mine is paid on 3rd even if its a weekend.  I plan to convert to Edge after August payment. The bill cashback plus the saver makes it worthwhile for me.  I have taken into account the difference in interest between the rate of the saver minus what I could get elsewhere in interest.

Has anyone else yet tried emailing to state that they do not wish to have to transfer to Everyday or Edge?

My OH and I have a joint Edge CA with 2 associated single Edge Savers. We also have a single Edge CA each with 2 associated single Edge Savers.
We also have a joint 123 lite for which we have numerous SO`s, DD`s and payees and because of this we want to keep the same sort code and account number for our change over from joint 123 lite to joint Edge CA.
What is the best method of achieving this?
Is it - Close the joint Edge CA. Then online - Upgrade Current Account - View Santander Edge Current Account - transfer my existing Santander account online - (Transfer your existing account and keep your Santander account number, card and PIN).
Old 123 lite CA has a different sort code (09-01-35) to our joint Edge CA (09-01-29) - Will our upgraded Edge CA have a 09-01-35 sort code?    Do we leave intact our 2 associated Edge Savers with the joint Edge CA we are closing or is it best to empty the Edge Savers, close them and open 2 new ones once the transfer of the joint 123 lite is complete?  Has anyone completed such a joint transfer? Are there any issues because it is a joint account upgrade?
We have an overdraft facility with the old 123 lite - Will this be automatically transferred or will we have to ask for a new one?
