    Thanks, well that's very useful context. I don't know why those posts would be targeted while leaving the rest of the thread up.
    Seems likely if the OP informed the lenders about the change of circumstances, then they'd probably want them repaid early, avoiding the need to conceal any money held in the bank. Especially given one of the loans is at 9%. I don't think borrowing at a high rate to invest in gold coins, jewellery, stamps, or lego, is a good idea.
    Having reviewed a couple of the other threads now, I can see one very insightful reply that probably explains what is going on.
