Physical savings

Options
Just wondered whether anyone keeps any physical objects as non-tracked savings?
For example cash, gold coins, electricals?

I've got a piggy bank with lots of coins in it.  I also have electrical items of value, like my Playstation.

Non tracked savings? I have not heard that term before. Like those invisible to the authorities - cash is great for that.
I have cash and a like Mark_d a jar of coins, I inherited a gold (so I am told) half soverign, doesn't everyone have electricals?
Are we perhaps looking to diversify our assets away into art, wines, classic cars or is this something more subtle?

Sounds like you need a Jackson Pollock in your non tracked portfolio.

My friend uses Britannia gold coins, No CGT.
Can be used instead of having visible savings, a few pensioners I know have them.
Keeps them under the 6k limit, used in other countries to purchase things.
Like a house. Abroad you can walk into a gold shop and get cash for them 7 days a week.

I suppose I could but why would I want to?  I don't really have any possessions which are really valuable.  Keeping wealth in gold coins would increase your insurance costs and the funds would be less accessible than if your wealth was in a bank account

I have a Meerkat toy still boxed, from 10 years ago.  I'm hoping it will be worth something in 30 years time as it was a limited edition Batman one

Oh dammit, they're still only selling for £10.  I might have to wait a bit
