Over charged KWh by British Gas
Hi
I’m in a dispute with BG, over the last 10 months I’ve used 440m3 gas, so on my latest bill they are saying 440m3 equals 13,852kwh I can’t see how they are getting to this calculation.

Is my maths correct ?
440m3 x 39.1 x 1.02264 / 3.6 = 4,887.0829 kWh
Please help prove I’m not going mad

It looks like BG have assumed you've got an Imperial meter, measuring in (hundreds of) cubic feet.100 cubic feet = 2.83 cubic metres. What does your meter measure in? I'd it's a modern electronic or smart meter, it's almost certainly cubic metres but older mechanical meters could be either.N. Hampshire, he/him. Look at your meter - look for the letters m3 or ft3.
Note the serial number.
Take a photo
Look at your bill
Is the serial number the same - does it say m3 or ft3Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
It’s 10 months old it’s a smart Meter measuring in m30

No it's definitely not.
You've got the c11 and the 2.83 in the total.
Use any gas calc website e.g.
https://utilitiessavings.co.uk/gas-kwh-conversion-tool/
That results for 1 = 100 ft ^30 -

I’ve found the answer yippee just got to get it across to BG now. They still have my old meter serial number on my bill which measured in imperial this was removed 10 months ago when they fitted the smart meter which now measures in metric. They are still calculating my units used as imperial and not metric.3
