Help with defence against DCB

You won't establish any precedent and they probably won't proceed or pay the hearing fee.I'm guessing they are not letting it go if they bothered responding to my defence. Not correct. They always respond to court orders that don't require them to pay money because their template 'reply to defence' took them minutes to adapt and they are in the midst of playing a game with you, to see who blinks first!
They discontinue (in almost every case) before the hearing fee is due. Which AFAIK has not yet been ordered. No hearing date yet?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I finally got a hearing date! September it is!
I filed a HMCTS complaint that my e-mails were to the court were going unanswered and they followed up, apologising that my e-mails had been lost during a surge they had.
My understanding is that I need to prepare my Witness Statement next. I'll search the forum for examples and advice. I haven't had much time to look for a law firm to go after the state (from my other thread), but I'm wondering whether I should use one now. While I know small claims do not work as case law, winning this would send a strong message and really support my broader case against the estate manager.
I know instructing a law firm would cost me more than what I'm defending against, but I'm considering it anyway. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know! Thanks.
ps. happy to rename the thread and update the forum with whatever you feel is relevant, just let me know.

No there's no point paying a law firm because the claim will end up discontinued and you'll be £hundreds out of pocket.
