No - read the original post. You get something off (60p), but not one third. And it has to be PAYG Oyster
i was referring to the linking of the travelcard to oyster card post above my reply.

Only until April, Beate. Then all the country's senior citizens will be able to use London's buses for free too (with some restrictions of course - this is England:D ).

when you say the "country's senior citizens", I guess you mean just England?

or will we in Wales be able to travel free in London too?
  • Hi all,

Included in the advantages to Oyster is an easy way to claim refunds for delayed journeys.

I've been tortured with delays for the last week and am going completely mad. However, you can apply for a quick refund online if you've been delayed by over 15 minutes and get your money back. Why let TFL keep the cash for what is often a sub-standard service!

From TFL - "If you experience a delay to your journey of more than 15 minutes, for reasons within our control, we will refund you with a voucher to the value of the single delayed journey. Please note that refunds cannot be made if a delay is beyond our control or that of our contractors such as security alerts, third party action or adverse weather conditions. This also applies to service changes advertised in advance.

Save your money on these delays - see the weblink below:

    Ok
Pre-pay and PAYG is the same thing.

If you correctly touch in and out at those yellow scanners then you will only pay £4.80 for zone1-2 travel.

how does this work, if your starting station is not an oyster station?!
Oyster PAYG (and hence capping) is ONLY valid at Oyster stations. You canNOT start or end your journey at a station that doesn't allow Oyster PAYG.

How does the off-peak / peak price capping work if I travel partly at peak times but mostly off-peak?

Say I travel once at a peak time (£1.50) and several times off peak (ie. would have got the £3.10 cap), will I be charged £3.10 + £1.50 = £4.60, or because I've travelled on a peak train will it only cap at £6.30?
