Is that as a 'roll number' or an account number (the new provider's form is asking me to select one).
Also is it the whole NI number including letters, or just the numerical part? I thought account numbers were just numerical?

Account "numbers" don't have to be numerical, but some providers can't cope with non-numerical accounts.
In this case you'd probably want to use the roll number field.

Anyone tried this for HSBC? Their form doesn't seem to accept letters.
