You will not pay the fee on the current account unless and until you meet the pay in and direct debit payout requirements. I don't know whether the existing credit card would revert to charging the fee because you have another current account.

According to the terms it won't. They haven't narrated the process much though.

With the new edge current account, as long as I never add direct debits I ought to be in the clear then? Even if I paid off a credit card bill manually for X amount by adding money. Or adding via CA or withdrawing from the saver? Doubt I would use it for anything else really.
That's how I've avoided ever paying the fee.

Sorry and to be clear - the £500 a month isn't a minimum funding requirement to keep the account? No downgrade risk?

But if I did do it, no problem fee wise. Shall just be paying any dds elsewhere.

Mine has been completely dormant most of the time. Occasionally I move some money through it (i.e. when refreshing the Edge Saver). I wouldn't say "no downgrade risk" if you don't meet the requirements that trigger the fee, but so far so good. They do send reminders about the fact you are missing out on cashback and might be paying for the account unnecessarily etc, but I just ignore those.

I've had the Edge current account and saver for almost a year - never paid in £500 nor set up any direct debits.

I've got 2, no DDs, £5 balance never changed since I opened them and 2 Regular Savers paying 7% and 6% on £4000 each!

    OP,
This is the Savings and Investments forum. Your thread would be better in one of these forums.

I was genuinely on the fence, but went for this due to the ultimate subject being the savings account. If it's better off moved I am not sure how, but I think I have my answers now.

Not worth moving now, but was just not sure if you were aware of the other forums or not.
