Take Home Pay

The reason im confused is that we did a HC1 application for help with health costs. Just so i could be 100% sure we had to pay. They came back to me saying i was already eligible for help because i qualified under UC because my take home pay was under 935. I even phoned them up and they insisted the 4 UC statements i had sent qualified me and two people had checked. So i figured I must be looking at the wrong take home pay section. I have asked them to reassess because I think its clerical error.marcia_ said:£1532.95 as your statement saysWins so far: Jar of Nesquik, LoveTub pudding, Strada Reviewer.

Actually the statement isn't clear to me as there's two take home pay sections. I thought it was the bigger number as its the only answer that makes sense as Take Home Pay.marcia_ said:£1532.95 as your statement says
The reason im confused and questioning this is that i assumed, like everyone here, that we earned too much to qualify. However we were getting prescriptions frre while on tax credits so we did a HC1 application for help with health costs. So i wanted to check i wasn't looking at the wrong number. I have asked them to reassess because I think its clerical error.Wins so far: Jar of Nesquik, LoveTub pudding, Strada Reviewer.

Thank you. Your maths is significantly better than mine. Id like to say i understand now but... 🤣peteuk said:The two figures are easily explained.
Your wage is £1532.95
They allow £673.00 before deductions start
Deduction £472.97
£1532.95 - £673.00= £859.95
The deduction from your UC is at 55p per pound, but because of the £673.00 it is only applied to the £859.95. Which works out at £472.97 deducted from your overall UC award.Wins so far: Jar of Nesquik, LoveTub pudding, Strada Reviewer.

Although your take home pay is shown in the uc statement you will know each month as you report your earningsSquirrel85 said:

The difference is, one of those is what you've earned (the £1523), and the other is the deduction they take from your UC (the £427).Squirrel85 said:

HOWEVER.
Have you been claiming for more than 12 months? If so, what is the actual figure you've had when declaring your income and expenses?
I wonder if the £1500 is the minimim income floor and you've actually earned less than that, earning under the health costs threshold.
If you're not sure then it might help if we could see more of the statement, not just the two figures you've shown us.0
