It is like eating chocolate, once you get a taste for it, it becomes difficult to stop.
I have already changed my payments to add an extra £50/month and depending on my wage rise that might go up again. Very addictive.0 -

Have just paid my cashed in endowment into my offset savings account so it's nice to know that it's now working hard reducing my mortgage - hopefully I should see quite a reduction in my interest bill next month. Of course what I would normally pay in to the endowment is going straight in to driving down the mortgage.
I've just seen the link to the 5% cashback Amex card, so I've applied for one of those. I already have a Nationwide cashback card - they paid me £23 for the past year, which is money for nothing.
I maybe should have included in my first post that I put almost everything on my credit card and pay it off in full by dd every month. Not only for the cashback, but because the longer the money is in my current account, it's reducing my interest bill. Every little bit helps…!
I like February - it's a short month so not too long to next payday, and there's no council tax bill. Guess where that money's going!MFW Challenge: Mortgage free in 2008! ACHIEVED!0 -

I'd like to pay off extra on my mortgage too. However, the OH and I don't really know what the job situation will be past summer. I'm doing my PGCE so get paid until the end of June. However, he only works part time due to going back to finish his degree (15 yrs after he started it...lol) and his job is due to end in summer.
So unless we get jobs and have some security we can't risk over paying, we need to save the money for rainy days. I'd still like to join though cos if I manage to get a job then I'd start over paying!
But prob more sensible to save the money for now, I could always use it for over paying if I do get a job anyhoo!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
