Mediation session booked for Friday. Will update once again then.
It's a pointless call! 3 minutes, phone down. As you know from the Template Defence thread.

Have you done the Public Consultation yet? It does take a couple if hours but the deadline was extended till next week.

    See this thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-now-extended-closes-friday-26th-september/p1

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

    CLOSES ON FRIDAY 26th SEPTEMBER.

Just off the phone with the mediator. Was once again a complete waste of time.

He had spoken to other side who said 'They've seen that you submitted a template defence found online'. Asked me for my side.

I offered £2.50 then the mediator tried to guilt me with 'The court fee was £35, so they likely aren't going to accept that'.

To which I stood my ground with 'Thats kind of their problem.'

Rung off after that. Guess we'll see what happens next and if they discontinue before the court date.

I've got the code of practice link open to submit answers as well!

They may discontinue before the hearing fee is due to be paid,  or pay it and let the hearing go ahead,  depending on what their client, NCP, wants to do.  Probably be in several months time,  so next year

    Well done with that answer!

And I am so pleased you are fitting in to do the consultation justice, so to speak.

Small updates, received a letter a few weeks ago for change of venue to Portsmouth Law Court.

Second received another letter from Moorside with a settlement proposal to either to pay £180 in a lump sum OR £200 via two month payments, and another threat that they have been instructed to prepare for a court hearing. How gauche.

Unless adviced otherwise, I'll be ignoring this new settlement "offer".

    Another small update.

Another letter arrived again with the same settlement proposal. Ignored once more.

A new letter from the court, with dates.

Court date set for February 9th 2026.
Claimant has until the 12th of January 2026 to pay the £27 court fee, if not paid the claim will be struck out and the they will be liable for any costs I have incurred.

Claimant have until the 22nd of December 2025 to send any documents they intend to rely upon at the hearing to me and the court. This includes documentation of their authority to regulate parking on the land in question. I have 14 days prior to the court date submit any documents to the court and the claimant as well.

So we shall see if anything happens on the 22nd of December or the 12th of January I suppose.

    Clever court judge!

You will need to draft a WS and exhibits bundle just in case.

Small update: Moorside have missed their deadline to send me any documents they wish to use at trial, as I have received no documents from them. Unsure if they have sent anything to the court. Will wait to see if anything arrives by post in the next week.
