I've also sploshed bleach down the loo, brought down the empty bleach bottle and recycled it, and put new bottle on stairs to be taken up.roundtuit said:

You may be thinking Big Deal! But if you don't do this you end up with a ton of empty bleach bottles in the bathroom and nothing to splosh down the loo when you need it. So, if you're reading this and struggling- take it from me: those little things do add up and make a big difference. I'm living proof it works. I now have floor in every room. 😊
Having a coffee while the pots soak. Join me?

I'm joining you, round and eltee

I've just been out in the garden to deadhead the pots on the decking - the tall red tulips were gorgeous, but they're well and truly over now. Never mind, we have moved into the pink and powder blue period, with masses of forget-me-nots and rosa rugosa, to be followed shortly by the big bearded iris which I love. The temperature gauge says it 14deg out there, but we have a fierce north wind and it feels more like 10deg.
So far this morning I have
- almost finished my financial admin - it "only" took me 75min to track down why one account disappeared and another appeared in its place: it turned out the BS had changed its name in January but kept the same account number!
- showered, dressed, breakfasted, loaded and started the DW
- started WMx1
- S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom
- done a 5 min PUPA all round the house
- inspected the back garden (as above).
A bit more desk work needs to be done before lunch. Then I'm hoping to take Rosie up the big NT hill this afternoon so that I can admire the swathes of English bluebells across the valley. This is what they looked like in 2022. I can't find this week's report (apparently they're even better this year) on the BBC News website - it would seem that the turnover of bad news is too quick to hold onto the good stories for more than a day
Hope everyone has a good weekend xxx5 -

Hello all.Had family here today for a little birthday lunch for SIL. Manic. Missing was DS and DH as they are out for weekend for DSs stag do. Now I'm home alone, well Poppet is here, so I'm going to have a ready meal, some more birthday cake and watch telly.Spend less now, work less later.6

Started the day with a lovely lake swim; the resident swan pair had their 6 cygnets on view for the first time, and a cuckoo was calling - first I've heard this year.
- went to Mr S on the way home and got a few things I can't seem to get anywhere else
- wudupa
- filled bird feeders
- did a flower arrangement for church, took it to church, brushed the pews and vacuumed. While lovely to have, our 'maternity roost' of several colonies of bats are .....making their presence known.
- checked the squash and the sweet corn plants I'd put outdoors yesterday; all happy in their new beds.
- Mr N and I had a complete sort and clearout of the 'airing cupboard' which is in my study - it no longer contains the immersion heater so is just a linen storage cupboard. We have earmarked 2 duvets, several duvet sets, sheets, pillowcases and towels to either go to charity or to be recycled. We put 2 spare duvets (a single, for the rare occasions we need an extra bed and a 'winter' double) in the loft. Ditto 2 sleeping bags. I've put the assessment resources which I'm passing on into 2 of the spare 'school bags' so that will free up more space. All in all, while the room is now in chaos with piles of things waiting to be shifted to new homes, the potential is enormous. Already we've now got room to put the ironing board (which hung precariously from a unit) and the 'upstairs hoover' (which lurked in our bedroom) both into aforementioned airing cupboard. A good job and which will hopefully encourage me to continue with my study reorganisation.

Morning all. Hope you're doing well today.
Busy day ahead. Dailies and dog walking after I've had a quick look at DHs expenditure on the stag do! Then decorating a cake and making other items for a village event this afternoon. Then pick DH up and straight onto a concert tonight.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -

Morning all xx
I didn't buy a budgie. Although there was one that caught my eye. Bought seed for the planter / feeder so that's a job well done. We went on to Dun€lm for coffee and I came out with a new water bottle for work and a Christmas present for L. And I now know where to go to buy photo frames - once I've measured up.
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with two lives lost, swished towels and tea towels, eaten breakfast and supped two brews.
To Do Today List
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the recycling
? Peg out washing*
Recycle boxes
Recycle packaging
That'll do for starters.
