Sorry its actually a Nano SIM (Alcatel 2057D). So do i have to order a new SIM from EE or would i just go into an EE shop and ask them to change my Nano SIM to a micro SIM? (i have an account with EE) ...thats assuming that whichever phone i buy has a micro SIM.
Also, do you know if i shoudl get a 2G phone or a 4G phone?

I need it to be a "dumb" phone and not a smart phone.

Supposing i do buy say a £13 dumbphone from argos which needs to be bought with £10 airtime...do you think i could just remove the SIM from that and put my EE sim card in it?...or would it be locked to vodafone?....i am with EE. (i appreciate that if its locked to vodafone then they wont unock it.....they will say they will but just wont, this happened to me before)
The phone from Argos did not force you to buy the £10 top up, I just went straight to checkout and paid £13.50. It is 4g and I put our old Tesco PAYG SIM card in it.

I'd buy an unlocked Nokia 105 4G, you can buy from Argos for £24.99

@flaneurs_lobster your link mentions the requirement for the purchase of £10 airtime.

Link shows no such thing for me, methinks there's some geolocation/personalisation gubbins going on.

I'd screenshot but it's listing distances to all my local Argoses, doesn't quite geolocate my house but it's pretty close.

Nowadays sim cards are multi sized and you just push out the size you require. If you have a nano sim then just get a cheap card from Poundland or similar, push out the nano piece and replace it with your sim.

Any old sim card frame will do. You may even have one at home from when you got your existing sim.

New phones are no longer locked to a particular network, regardless of where it's bought.

Nano SIM is the smallest and the most commonly used size for (all?) new phones.

EDIT : The Argos £13.50 phone may be described as "Vodafone" but there seems to be no requirement to buy any SIM or airtime

Here's a screenshot of the product. To buy just the phone you have to select the first green button and ignore the later button which is for a bundle including the unwanted SIM.

If you just do not add the £10 top up and just go to trolley and check out the total to pay is £13.50. I did it 2 weeks ago. I have just tried to do it again and it is still the same £13.50, I put my old sim card in and it works fine.

Probably not, but no way of knowing until you try it.
