Transitional Protection is added if your total UC award is lower than legacy benefits at the time of transfer.

If person A was awarded LCWRA after migration there would be an immediate erosion of £400+ in Transitional Protection.

If Person B transferred with the same amount of Transitional Protection but no new elements were awarded, they would see their Transitional Protection reduce slowly only by the amount of annual uprating of benefits-calculators.

Eventually both those people would be on the same money once Transitional Protection ends.

Person A would reach that point more quickly than Person B.
Sorry if I'm being thick but still not totally getting this.

Person A: clear enough. You get the c.£400 add-on for LCWRA, and it immediately wipes out Translational Protection (in my case anyway).

But surely person B just ends up with Basic UC (in my case £393) - or whatever it is adjusted to for inflation by then - once Transitional Protection is eroded away by inflation?

Doesn't Person B, with basic UC and LCWRA add-on, get basic UC + LCWRA add-on, increased each year for inflation? So surely they end up better off?

They will get the annual uprating once the transitional protection has been reduced to 0 but until then they won't see any increase until everyone else has caught up.
