Ok, have you visited your doctor to get a certificate yet? By the time you complete the WCA and submit it, you could be waiting a serious length of time for an outcome months in some cases.Enigmaman said:
It's my first WC assessment. I get UC atm.TimeLord1 said:When you state your work capability is due, have you previously had one? Are you on universal credit currently or legacy benefits?0 -
Two options Limited Capability for Work Related Activity (LCWRA) no requirements to look for work and Limited Capability for Work (LCW) work related activity group light touch appointments.Enigmaman said:Thanks for the replies.
So, LCWRA basically means you cannot do any work? Or is there a third category along with LCW and LCWRA about this?1 -
Yes I ahve had fit notes.TimeLord1 said:

Oh sorry, my mistake. On ESA the amount you were allowed to work was limited and I had just assumed it was the same on UC.Spoonie_Turtle said:
What makes you think that?itsthelittlethings said:If you’re working and you get found to have LCW or LCWRA I think the amount you’re allowed to work will be limited.
That's not the case at all and it would be useful to know exactly what misconception needs putting right so that you understand why there are no work limits on people with LCW/RA.Credit card 1800

Having looked into this a bit further, it seems to me there are not many downsides to getting LCWRA.
I do know that I would lose my transitional relief, however, and I was wondering if I was moved back to LCW at any stage, whether I would get transitional relief back?0 -
I believe once Transitional Protection erodes it erodes permanently.0

All moving would do to the erosion is it would take less time to see the rate increase until you were at the same rate as everyone else.0

Sorry, not quite sure what you mean as I thought you got £400+ per month extra UC on LCWRA...which after eroded transitional relief would mean about an extra £50 per month in my case.TimeLord1 said:All moving would do to the erosion is it would take less time to see the rate increase until you were at the same rate as everyone else.
Still confused.0 -
Transitional Protection is added if your total UC award is lower than legacy benefits at the time of transfer.
If person A was awarded LCWRA after migration there would be an immediate erosion of £400+ in Transitional Protection.
If Person B transferred with the same amount of Transitional Protection but no new elements were awarded, they would see their Transitional Protection reduce slowly only by the amount of annual uprating of benefits-calculators.
Eventually both those people would be on the same money once Transitional Protection ends.
Person A would reach that point more quickly than Person B.1
