I really want may to be the month I finally start keeping a better record of my spends so to start is a shop from Tesco at £172.61 😱7
-
We have so many leftovers and things that need using up in the fridge, freezer and cupboards that I'm going to reduce my budget this month and shop from my cupboards as much as possible.
£200 for the month for me please.

mandco said:Pipneyjane it’s not just Lidl there seems to be a massive shortage of lactose free milk other then semi skimmed everywhere I used to get sains own brand full fat for ds but they haven’t had any full fat or skimmed in 5-6 weeks they don’t even have a space on the shelf for them anymore. I havent seen any own brand version other than semi skimmed in ages and that’s often oos now as it’s the only one available . I have found the branded lactofree milk still available in all 3 but it’s way more expensive
@C_J my condolences on the loss of your husband. I can only imagine how difficult the last 6 months or so have been for you. Big hugs.

Thank you @PipneyJane, it’s horrible, and so hard to get used to my new job description of ‘widow’. However I’m so fortunate to have family, friends, neighbours and former work colleagues all there with love and support (and our big soppy dog is a great comfort too, it’s nice to have another heartbeat in the house, it makes me feel less alone). On the positive side though, I am learning how incredibly adept I am at fixing things without Mr CJ (thank goodness for YouTube videos, eh?!)

Went to Aldi today for bread, ham and salad. £6.49 paid I have lost 4lb over the last 2 weeks and GC is helping with that. I am determined not to buy so many sweets treats. so the only way for me is not to eat them. Also won a hamper raffle last night at a quiz evening. Hopefully that will keep DH happy for a week at least! He doesn't like Oreos so they went straight to a neighbourcraft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

I am £47.05 in so far, having done a F&V run to M&S after the food bank drop off last Thursday, and I intend braving Morries for cat litter and Skyr yoghurt, but not until tomorrow afternoon (I understand their big delivery is Tuesday late morning at our nearest). I haven't looked into who sells what in the Skyr range yet, but the UK made versions seem to be hen's teeth. I was looking for big pots of natural as DH is on a fat free diet and I am no sugar so if we are to share, natural (with my own fruit added) is better than flavoured. He has tried a small pot of blueberry and our consensus (I tried a taste for that texture check) is that we prefer it to the 0% set Greek yoghurt made by the big brand. Other than that, we will live on what we have in, with the possible exception of a bag of washed baby spinach to have with the poached eggs and asparagus I plan for this eveningSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
