    Thanks Boodedoo 🙂

Have had a lovely time so far, although have spent far too much on coffees/eating out as have met up with various family and friends.

It's gone very quickly, can't believe I'll be back to work on Monday.

Got my payslip through earlier and will get around £400 less than last month due to doing very little overtime 😢

    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.10.26 - £101,793.04 (6.2% paid)
Mortgage overpayments so far - £995.84
    MOP savings - £23.87/£50
    Debt 16.11.25 - £5160  1.10.26 - £4050 (21.5% paid)
    Roof savings - £3650/£3650 (100% saved 🥳)

Oops have neglected my diary again, just been really lacking in motivation to do anything apart from work and sleep.

    However, payday tomorrow 😀

    • £100 credit card
    • £100 emergency fund
    • £50 Christmas
    • £111.45 roof debt savings which will take me to my target of £3650 🥳

I still have 5 months left on the interest free period on the credit card so will continue paying £100 a month to that and then pay it all off before the interest free period ends.

Still haven't totally decided what to do next - I really want to start overpaying the mortgage (the whole point of this diary!!) but I think savings are more sensible especially when the interest rates on savings can be higher than the mortgage interest. I'm leaning towards putting the money that would be going to the roof debt from my pay into savings but survey/cashback money towards the mortgage. I'll chat it over with OH and see what he thinks.

Whoopee on nailing that roof debt target with 5 months to spare! I've watched it go down by what sometimes seemed 'very' small amounts but you've consistently been making every penny count.

Well done, hope you are proud of what you have achieved, between you and your OH you will decide the best way for you to re-allocate what's been going to clearing this and I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines.

    Thanks INOD, beanie and Boodedoo.

Decision has been made so we've agreed to do as above and review at the end of the year. My plan is to save any survey/cashback money and make an overpayment to the mortgage when it hits £50. Made a start with £6.49 cashed out from PA.

I'm away to meet my sister shortly for a coffee and then head into work for 6pm. Have had a productive day so far as I seem to have gotten my motivation back 🙂 - been for a run, cleaned the house and done laundry, made soup and soda bread. The soup was lovely, the sofa bread less so but edible.

Not sure I'd fancy sofa bread either 😘
