No internet on RWG

I'm on RWG PAYG (still on part of the initial £1 loaded on the SIM).

I joined on 24/02/25.

I know it must have been working because having had Data switched off, I switched it back on while away from home (and therefore WiFi) to send a Whatsapp message on 07/04/25 and it used 3mb of data because I hadn't Restricted app background data on Google apps like Services, Play Store, Chrome etc.

The phone is a Motorola E3.

I found that if I go into Settings>More>Mobile networks and turn on Data roaming it does connect to the internet but I understood that Data roaming only needed to be switched on when going abroad.

Anyone any clues before I call Customer Services at RWG or Now?

I have already gone into Backup and reset and done a Network settings reset to no avail. Mobile data is set to ON in Settings>Data usage and currently no mobile data limit set.

    Have you checked your balance recently?
    If roaming has connected you will be being charged high prices
    Do you have a good signal for voice/texts?
    You could try network operators and access point names, should be now and everywhere respectively.
    If you scan for networks manually what options do you get?

    Mine is working.

    Have you checked your balance recently? Yes, balance is positive.

    If roaming has connected you will be being charged high prices. I disconnect straight away (as I've been connected to WiFi beforehand, no Google apps try to download any updates (I have automatic updates turned off anyway).

    Do you have a good signal for voice/texts? Yes, when I move towards the kitchen window, which is where I test for internet access.

    If you scan for networks manually what options do you get? I checked for available networks and about five of the usual networks came up including EE.

    I also tried a 2nd RWG SIM in the phone with the same result. Then put the first one back in.

    On the RWG website it says;

    There are no services available until you top-up or buy a bundle but you can contact customer care by emailing support@rwgmobile.wales

    Does the £1 credit applied when I paid £1 for the SIM not count. I have definitely sent a text already and used 3mb of data. Surely, it wouldn't connect when I turn on Data roaming if that was the case?

    Just turned the phone back on after charging.

    Available networks are;
    EE UK
    T-mobile UK
    3 UK
    O2 - UK
    vodaphone UK

    The RWG website says;
    For our voice SIMs If you do need to input the APN settings on the Now network please use the APN settings below:
          Name: EE Internet
          APN: everywhere
          Username: eesecure
          Password: secure
         All other fields can remain blank.

    The Name was set to just Internet. I changed it to EE Internet. Made no difference.

    APN = everywhere
    Username = eesecure
    Password = ******

    I didn't attempt to change the password

    I have two RWG sims, when one of mine suddenly stopped working on the data, i contacted RWG and they advised me to change the APN settings to nowmobilenet. I found the details online. Did this and ive never had a problem since.
    No idea why it stopped working suddenly. My two sims are on different APN settings. Yet i brought them within weeks of one another.

    I very much doubt it says vodaphone.
    Now/nowmobile doesn't appear on the list, but presumably it is connecting to Now for calls and texts?

    I never touched the available networks page.

    It was the APN page i changed. You have to click 'Add' to add the new APN for Now Mobile.

    The original APN for my sim was Internet Everywhere.

    Yeah, I tried this last night using some Now APN settings I found online. Problem was there's an APN enable/disable button that just wouldn't let me select it. What was your source for Now APN settings?
