Is yours a fixed tariff or are you on the standard variable tariff? Who is your current supplier.
You will get a discount if you pay by direct debit, so that might be said to improve your tariff. Perhaps consider monthly variable direct debit, where you only pay for what you have used in a month rather than the usual way of building up credit.
Most of the better tariffs that allow you to save money, that is a time of use tariff, require a smart meter. Fixed tariffs which will be much of a muchness - but people can advise further if you tell us your supplier.0 -
Why not just set up an account with MSE's CheapEnergyClubThen you can set up your details/location/typical usage and check whenever you want.

OP the fact you are looking for a cheaper tariff suggests you are dissatisfied with your current tariff rates?
The MSE Energy Club will provide you a broad view of suppliers available and their tarifs, you are limiting your options however without a Smart meter or Direct Debit and therefore likely to be paying more than a similar user utilising those benefits.0 -
I don't think you can have your cake and eat it!
If you got a smart meter then it would open up a number of options for you.
One of which is smart pre-payment which even with your existing tariff could yield a reduction.0
