I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right thread, because step 8 on that one says

You can claim your costs if you win, the hearing might never happen and you risk nothing (no CCJ, no huge costs) by defending. If you end up among the handful who report a loss here you'd have 30 days to pay ... and the total is less than on the claim form (£185 - £212 total for a single PCN).

Though thank you for the confirmation that all I need to do now is wait to receive a copy of the same form they completed, and I'm guessing that'll then have instructions on what to do next.

And again sorry, overthinking is something I struggle not doing (for better or worse 😄).

Now I feel like such an idiot because I somehow managed to misread both of your replies as "step 8", not "the 8 steps" 🤦‍♂️ thank you for being so understanding and patient with me!

Small update: I had my mediation call earlier this week and after reading over some of the example threads I was considering offering £5-10 in the hope that they would leave me alone.

But when the mediator briefly explained that the solicitor believes my argument is "poor signagne", it annoyed me that they clearly still haven't read anything I've told them so I straight up just offered zero. The mediator did then come back to me telling me that they would agree to reduce their offer from £260 to £120 but I kept to £0 and that was it.

The mediator didn't try to "bully" me as I've seen some others mention which was nice at least.

Going by the guide I'm guessing all I can do right now is wait again to see if anything further comes of it?

Thanks. I understood that there's a chance they might drop it (albeit probably unlikely in my case based on their response). Though sounds like I'll be keeping an eye out for the post as you said!

They probably will near the hearing fee deadline date in a few months time, once your local civil court are dealing with it, which is why you nominated it in your N180 DQ document

I think 100% of Moorside NCP claims seen here have been discontinued thus far.
