MOORSIDE LEGAL, NCP court claim

I haven't read through lots of the posts here myself, but I'm assuming that Matt/Kevin/Luke (the authors of the guide) must have looked through a fair few as the guide says:ChirpyChicken said:You mention mediation. That doesn't actually achieve anything and I always do zero offer.Positively, a number of MSE Forumites have found mediation to be beneficial, with reports of parking firms essentially giving up and agreeing to settle for £0 at this stage. Clearly, there's no guarantee of this happening in your case, but this does illustrate the potential benefit of continuing to hold your ground. As it does also point out, of course there's no guarantee that it'll make a difference, but it doesn't sound like it's completely worth writing off.

I'm yet to be aware of any mediation session where the Defendant offers £0, to end in agreement with a PPC to drop their claim .... and I've been doing this stuff daily for well over a decade.Racxie said:

Maybe message Matt/Kevin/Luke and ask them for links to these 'successes'.Let us know. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Sorry, this whole thing has just skipped my mind again. Just dropped an email over to MSE uerying this and will come back once I receive a replyLet us know.
Edit: received an automated reply so not clear if it'll still go through to the team and/or if they will reply, but will update if they do!1 -
I seem to recall there were some drop hands £0 cases last year. I didn't think that the guide was wrong when I checked it and liaised with the guys who wrote it. Probably fairer to say we had more £10 settlement examples but zero wasn't unheard of last year IIRC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Although £0 would be nice given all the stress and the way it's been poorly handled, that honestly would be much fairer imo and something I'd be happy with and it sounds like there's still some hope left so fingers crossed!Coupon-mad said:I seem to recall there were some drop hands £0 cases last year. Moorside Legal won't settle at mediation stage but they usually discontinue before the hearing fee has to be paid.

So I've finally received a reply yesterday to the email I sent them using the template from the guide, and this is the response I received:Is there anything I should do apart from wait?We write in relation to the above matter.
You have already made representation to our client, who have responded accordingly. We cannot overturn their decision.
Considering the evidence, we hold we must advise that the PCN and its associated processes are in line with industry standards and are compliant with our clients Accredited Trade Association’s code of practice.
We ask that you make the full payment of £170.00 within 7 days of receipt of this email.
That's unfortunate, would have saved both of us the energy and time.Coupon-mad said:Moorside Legal won't settle at mediation stage but they usually discontinue before the hearing fee has to be paid.0 -

Thanks. This whole thing is still very nerve-wracking and I honestly just can't wait for it to be over. But until then I really can't appreciate enough how supportive you all are, not just for myself but plenty of others too.Coupon-mad said:Just wait till the end game, when you'll win.3 -
Hi again all. So after seeing the news about NCP going into adminstration I thought luck might just have been on my side, but unfortunately the dreaded letter has arrived:
I understand it's important that I respond as the last thing I want is a CCJ, and I'm guessing it's better for me to respond to it online, but even just looking at this form I'm not 100% sure what I need to fill out and what can I leave blank.
I am guessing it's better that I admit the part of the claim (the unpaid hour) to the county court that I've already admitted to NCP and POPLA? Though they've only given an address as a payment method which gives me no way of paying it unless I can convince one of my banks to give me a cheque book or I send them a couple of quid in the post…
What's also perplexing to me is that the car park is based in Worthing, I live 40mi+ to the east of it, and yet the court address is in Northampton which is 120mi-150mi north of both - if it did go to court is that where I'd be expected to attend? And if yes is there anyway to ask for it to be moved closer to me?
As always any and as much help is gratefully appreciated, because I really don't want to be paying £262.14 for an hour's mistake. Not to mention that 8% interest rate is absolutely ludicrous.
