  • LV I'd forgotten about them. I only really know Bupa as a rival. Maybe Nuffield.

Guess it depends if you’re looking for Life Insurance or Health Insurance as Vitality offer both.
I contribute to a Health Insurance policy through my employer, so was just looking for a Life policy for the remainder of my mortgage term. The good thing is that because it’s not a policy that pays out for anything other than death or critical illness, you can cancel it at any point and not lose anything.

It's a joke. By the way I've calculated the odds:
    • 19% chance of getting that second reward (which used to be free)
    • 0.0125% chance of getting the third reward
The requirements have also changed, from a monthly total to a constant weekly amount. Be sick for a week and you won't get your monthly reward. Meet the requirements and you'll have a 19% chance of getting what you used to.

And the genius is that they brand it as an upgrade, where you can earn 3 rewards.
What are the odds of ‘playing’ 3 weeks in a row and not finding a single Stanley? Be interested to know if anyone else has found one yet…

Can't say I am too impressed with the changes either.

As has been pointed out before you got your cafe nero drinks (and 25% itsu discount), 100% off itsu monthly voucher and free monthly cinema tickets automatically - now you have to go in the app and select the first weekly and also play a silly game (designed for five year olds) to pick a dachshund called Stanley behind multiple bushes to get the monthly itsu and cinema rewards. You need 8 'Stanleys' to get both the itsu and cinema reward each month - I am likely to miss out on both rewards this month as it looks like I will only get 7 Stanleys as I only found 1 this week. Doesn't appear you can carry forward unused Stanley's either to next month - so 3 of my Stanleys will essentially be put down on 30 April!!

All of course designed to reduce the number of people taking up the rewards by making them harder to get!

One might even say the Vitality reward scheme has gone to the dogs - or should that be gone to the Dachshunds.
  • Well, I've played three times now and I'm on 5 Stanleys. Odds of actually getting to 8 so I can get a decent reward?

Does anyone know if Stanleys carry over? As in, I'll use 4 to get one "treat", will I just lose the other one?
  • Well, my plans have been scuppered. Just been looking at comparison sites for health insurance and the cheapest is Vitality...

Can you remove the Vitality Optimiser?
Might save you a few quid, and the stress of shouting at the app once a week!

I have been with Vitality for 11 years and its got worse and worse, this game thing is ridiculous, you have to remember to play and then only ever get the free stanley. I am seriously considering ditching Vitality.

I am on 5 too - only got one (the guaranteed Stanley) this week. Very unlikely - next to no chance - you get 3 in one week to get to the 8 needed for two rewards.

Not sure if they lure you in thinking you get two per week initially and then dash your hopes in weeks 3 or 4 so you miss out on the 8 needed for the two monthly rewards. And I don't think the unused Stanley's can be carried forward to the next month.

So it is no free itsu meal for me next month - just an Odeon cinema ticket.

But i have an itsu near where I work - so might have to use their direct half price 30 mins before closing to build up my steps to get more vitality points!

I do use the half price Virgin/Nuffield membership offer - if they ever took that away I would be gone. That can be worth over £100 a month for central London gyms. But i can see why those not using the gym offer would be tempted to leave.

This new rewards scheme is a total scam….struggling to find any Stanley’s and it’s really insulting that they have dressed it up as improved….i feel my blood pressure rise every time I have to play the stupid game….do they think we are completely unintelligent?
