Mines still pending. Is that normal for them to future date it?

HMRC does carry out 'compliance checks' on a random percentage of self-assessment tax returns every year.
  • I submitted on the 6th had to make an amendment on the 8th to correct it. i received a letter saying it had been accepted however i'm still pending payment. I'm just in the waiting game of payment being issued.

Just what exactly did this letter say? HMRC do not send letters ‘accepting’ returns.

Are you simply describing a submission receipt?

Sorry I should have been more specific I believe it was confirmation/acknowledgement of amendment made.

I’m puzzled anyway, I usually have been paid by the 18th for the past few years. However this year I have not. I don’t typically care about it however I was replying on it a little bit. Typically the time I needed it is when it comes through at a different time 😅

Somebody had to first and somebody had to be last, with many in between.

Could be between now and late summer, depending on work load and whether any security checks are being done.

The best time to phone is asoon as lines open, to be at the front of the queue.

Ive Moved This Here As I May Get Some Better Help  :)

    Afternoon all,

Hope this is in the right place, if not i apologise.

i submitted on the 06/04 my form for repayment of CIS deductions as i do every year for my limited company. HMRC have recieved this form and offset and taken off any liabilities that they were owed (some PAYE)

I spoke to them today to chase up and make sure everything was in order as in previous years they have been quite prompt with repayments, usually around 3-4 weeks. The advisor on the phone confirmed all was good and that my claim my was being processed, I then asked if they were able to give me a timeframe to which they told me "September" due to the backlog of claims and industrial action.

I then proceeded to question this and ask why sole traders and individuals have already been repaid and why a Ltd company would have to wait another 120 days, they had no answer. So my questions are as follows:

    • Has anyone else been told this or is it a case of they didnt really know what was happening?
    • Am i able to charge them intrest as they do to me when my PAYE is late
    • Can i escalate this further as if everything is ok and checks have been made why would it take that long to issue the payment?

Any advice would be massively appreciated, Thank you!
