They want the brake invoice to check you're not pulling a fast one and claiming for work you haven't had done.  And to check that the brake work carried out wasn't excessive or excessively charged.
But they didn’t pay for breaks though ?
Then don't provide the invoice.  Perhaps they're just stalling or wasting your time.  Send them a letter before action and see if it generates any response.  If it doesn't, you'll have to decide whether to take it to court.

Yes when I told them no to my invoice and asked what need of the invoice the said they retract offer of 100 and any further communication they want via email or there solicitor and I said can I have email addy and solicitor detail and they ignore me and refuse to give the details. I have sent a letter yesterday one normal post one recorded to let them know my decision if they won’t help to go court. It’s not like I expect full amount I have been fair and said go halves. Yet this car is going to need so much spent on it with issues yet it wasn’t cheap too. It was top end price and I thought I was getting a good car when they wouldn’t knock any money off. Ha I’m an idiot. But I did feel with warranty it was worth going for but can’t believe how hard it is to get any work under warranty

Have you checked companies house to see if they have any assets?

Getting an award at court does not mean you will get any money.

You  would be suing the company, not him, so if the  company owns nothing you get nothing.

In future, don't worry about using recorded delivery.  It gives the recipient the opportunity to not accept the letter.  Anything sent by normal post is deemed to have arrived if it came to court.

If you set a deadline in your letter, then wait for that to elapse then proceed with court action.  If you didn't set a deadline, then let 14 days elapse and then take court action.

My question would be why won't you give them the invoice? What difference does it make to you if there was something in it for them (unlikely btw).

My advice would be to check the company/directors on company house before spending money on legal action. It's all to easy for them to set up a new company and transfer all assets to it leaving you nothing to enforce a successful claim against. Companies house may indicate if they have had past companies.

It may be sensible to have it fully inspected.  Firstly, you need to know what you're dealing with in terms of what might need fixing now and in future, and secondly, it may give you more evidence for any court claim.
