£9 for website hosting + domain for a year

The best deal I have found for my domain name is at www.myqth.co.uk. They're the cheaper arm of hostroute.com/hostroute.co.uk and offer a pretty good value for money hosting deal, starting at £3.95 a month or £29 for 12 months.
You get unlimited forwarders, 3Gb disk space (for emails and/or web site) 100Gb monthly data transfer, the sophisticated Cpanel to control everything to do with your account and so far, I've found the technical support to be top-notch (reply within 24 hours, most commonly less than this).
For more info, see http://www.myqth.co.uk/features.html. Signing up is easy and if you want to try them out, go on the monthly plan for a while and then switch to the yearly one if/when you're satisfied.0 -
Does anyone know if the service allows for scheduled cron jobs?0

hmmm £9 is cheap but is it too cheap?? For a little more you could get a better package. I use Supanames, cheap, reliable and pretty much 100% uptime

With reference to the original offer that started this thread...
I signed up on this offer, mainly because of the £75 Adwords voucher which is something I'm particularly interested in.
They have just got round to issuing the voucher today. Unfortunately when I try to use it with my Adwords account I found it is for new Adwords customers only (something they didn't mention in the offer as far as I can see). I did think of bending the rules and setting up another Adwords account but decided against that as I don't want to risk being banned (and I never go against a company's Terms of Service anyway
)
So I think I'm going to try out their 15 day money back guarantee. Not sure what they will do with the free domain I signed up for with the account as there is no way for them to undo that.
Another snippet of info for people thinking of signing up for this is that you don't get the full voucher value as there is a £5 signing up fee with Google Adwords as well!)0 -
site5.com and servage are both good providers for high b/w sites.0

just noticed you can actually get £10 cashback via quidco for one.com so in effect it's nearly free after VAT for the year0

One word of warning is one.com don't accept paypal from what I can see.
You have to provide your credit/debit card details.
This can be dangerous as if you cancel or have a gripe, it's upto one.com to stop taking money from your card, unless you cancel your credit/debit card and have a new one issued.
I've been a customer of several hosting companies over my several years and I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole :eek:Proudly Banking & Saving With:

I've been using http://www.betterwebspace.com/ for a few years. Very low cost and no complaints. I'm not associated with the company in any way except as a customer. The typical package is a .co.uk domain name at £9.99 for 2 years plus hosting at £11.99 for 12 months. Add another £5 if you want your details hidden.
Package includes full C-Panel features (PHP, cron, autoresponders etc.)
You can see a list of the features for yourself. The guy who runs it is very approachable and helpful.0 -
Bumper cheap, they give auto install facilities for majority of popular website themes, and free templates, etc..
Just google 'hosterware'
or keyword 'cheap business hosting' or prestashop hosting in google
