I have no loans or debt on credit cards.
I had email to check if credits score had changed
I was disturbed to find something about missed payment
I looked into it and it said 2 missed payments for car insurance to First central management ltd. It says I have balance of £48. Balance in Jan was £340.
I took car insurance out in June 2024 with RAC no idea what this First central management ltd is.
I made no payment in January. It says there are 2 missing payments of £48. No records in any of my banking to payments to this company

What is going on. I feel a bit sick. Have I been scammed. Should I try and contact this company.

Edit update

Filed an Action Fraud case but they are not interested as I am not out of pocket. They give no advice where else I can get help

You should complain to the firm about the incorrect item on your record

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Did you opt to pay your RAC insurance by instalments? If so, you would have taken out a loan to pay the insurance, could First Central be providing the finance for the loan?

First Central Insurance Management Limited (better known as 1st Central) is our insurance broker; acting as the intermediary and policy administrator between the insurer and customers.

No I always pay in full on all stuff like this. That was in June. The transactions refer to £340 in January and policy from November and further payment of £48. None of these amounts or timings I recognise as anything I know about

Have you typed First Central Management into your emails to see if anything comes up?

Action Fraud: National Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting Centre

    RE:

    Dear Mrs *******

You recently made a report which we recorded under

Home Office Counting Rules set out the circumstances under which we can record a crime and on this occasion the matter you reported to us cannot be classified as a police recorded crime. Home Office Counting Rules for Fraud and Cyber Dependent Crime can be found online at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/counting-rules-for-recorded-crime.

You have indicated within your report that the misuse of your personal details or that of a company trading style played a part in the matter you are reporting. The use of another person’s identity, often referred to as identity theft, is not a police recordable crime. Where the details are used to obtain goods or services, we can only record a crime on behalf of the person or organisation which was defrauded as a result of the misuse of an identity.

An example of a situation in which we could record a crime would be where details were used to obtain credit, the use of which left the provider of credit with a financial loss. In these circumstances we would record a crime for the provider of the credit and look to establish if there was scope for the matter to be investigated.

Whilst the misuse of your identity cannot be classified as a police recorded crime, we do recognise that identity theft can cause significant distress and inconvenience. For advice and support, please see www.actionfraud.police.uk/fraud_protection/identity_fraud.

    What happens next?

Whilst we have not recorded this matter as a crime, we will still make use of the information you have provided. Information reports are utilised to enrich the overall intelligence picture which assists with the formulation and refinement of prevention strategies.

You now raise a complaint with the CRA that they are showing incorrect data on your file and wait and see what happens.  They will likely try it on stating it is nothing to do with them and you need to take it up with the insurer but it is their responsibility to ensure the data they are holding is accurate, they should be the ones chasing it up with the insurer if they receive a complaint. If it is not removed in 8 weeks you take it to the ICO.
