Trading 212 - bonuses not accepted

I used an MSE link when I opened a cash ISA with Trading 212 just weeks back. After the account had been opened for just a short time I realised that they were *not* paying the bonus stated in the MSE letter. I queried this with T212 and they told me that I opened the account while no bonuses were on offer - despite using the MSE link which said that they were! Is MSE aware that the bonuses are not being honoured? I saw the same bonus being mentioned again on TV last night ......

Did you try using the code MSE in the "Promo codes" section of the app?0

Yes. I did all the right stuff. When I queried the lack of the bonus, T212 merely replied that during the time of the switch (via MSE) they were not offering bonuses to new savers. Clearly they had not told MSE that! Not a happy saver .....0 -
Are you saying they are paying you only the 4.5% standard interest rate without the 0.86% bonus rate? On what date did you open the account?0

I've had a similar problem with missing bonus. ISA opened 6 Feb (via MSE link offering 0.26% bonus) but not funded until 24 Feb when proceeds received from previous institution. Interest rate (from 1 March) shown as 4.5% only, without any bonus. I queried this yesterday and am told today that I will be given the 0.26% bonus from today until 31 March 2026, but with no apparent retrospective adjustment. I suppose that is a satisfactory result but it says nothing for Trading 212's ability to run these accounts properly. We must all now hope that the rate remains competitive.1

I opened a cash ISA with Trading 212 this morning after reading Martin's ISA advice. I used the MSE link to open their website. Created an account, made a transfer and within minutes received an email from T212 showing the deposit had been successful (yay me!) I checked the T212 account and it shows an interest rate of 5.38% which includes the bonus of 0.88% - expiring 30 June 2025. I read the Promo rate terms which stated this promo is running from 14th March 2025 to 31 March 2025. Anyone thinking of getting the promo this side of the financial year would be wise to do it today.
Many thanks to MSE for pointing me in the right direction for opening an ISA at a good rate. My first dip into ISA's.0 -
Annnnnd there's a new offer today for 5.6% which we've missed out on by a day

FWIW I subsequently opened an ISA via an MSE link to Moneybox - and subsequently discovered that yet again, the new ISA - Moneybox - did *not* include the promised bonus. Yes, I checked all the requirements but no, I did not get a fair deal. Others may have a different experience but neither company was willing to acknowledge any mistake, nor were they willing to explain the discrepancies. I no longer trust the links :-(0

I have just had a similar issue. I opened a Cash ISA with T212, having read about it on MSE. My year recently ended, and I noticed that I had not received my fixed bonus top-up. I inquired on the T212 chat, and they told me I didn't sign up with an affiliate link. I have no proof that I did, and I can't find any emails to confirm my account opening. I am pretty good at this stuff and do not doubt that I was due to get it, and I opened it correctly. When opening the account, I am sure it told me the rate I was due to get on screen, and it was correct. I would never have invested £66K with them for such a low rate. I am gutted. As a 'goodwill gesture', they have offered me the current new customer rate for 1 year. Any advice?0

Based on the fact you have £66k in the ISA, you must have transferred funds from a previous ISA. As highlighted by MSE, transferred (previous TY) funds do not get the bonus rate that is available on new funds. The current offer as shown on MSE illustrates this, though you may have had an offer that did not have this restriction in it's T&Cs. Always make note of your T&Cs especially with any bonuses or offers.PikaPika37 said:I have just had a similar issue. I opened a Cash ISA with T212, having read about it on MSE. Note if you believe you should have got the bonus rate of some of your funds (i.e. new deposits) please check when you opened the account and see if using the following link will give you the T&Cs available at the time Cash ISA Promotional Rate T&Cs Record – Trading 212. Note, if you accidently did not open using an affiliated link then these terms won't apply.

ISA Bonus Interest Rate Issues
To anyone else reading this thread, there are a few reasons certain ISA accounts may not earn a bonus. Each of the following are dependent of the T&Cs of the respective accounts. The following are based on accounts available at the time of writing and linked on the MSE best ISAs page.
1) A lower interest rate on transfers in (can be previous i.e T212 or current tax year i.e. Plum)
2) An interest rate that drops after a number of withdrawals (i.e. Moneybox)
3) Accidently opening without using an affiliate link that gives the offer (for example, using the MSE link to T212 if you click any other page on T212 and then click links on the page to get back to Cash ISA the MSE affiliate is now broken)
4) You need to be a new customer, many interest rates are only available to new customers even if you were only with them for a short period before or a long time ago.0
