Santander Edge Saver ending

We opened 2 x sole + a joint Edge current a/cs in Oct 2023 along with the 4 x Edge saver a/cs. The savers were "refreshed" after 12 months but the current a/cs have not had any transactions after the initial opening ones. No direct debits were set up and for a while we were getting emails prompting to do so to get cashback but our old 123 a/c pays better cashback. I left £3 in each Edge current a/c in case a fee was taken but this has never been triggered.2

In the acknowledgement of my application they say that their underwriters are "looking at it". Which I find a bit weird. Is that terminology familiar to anyone?0

For those who have opened a second 'sole' Edge current account and a second Edge Saver like I did on 15 March 2025, following comments on this thread, or are thinking about it, I received the following e-mail yesterday ...
... should I tell them? ... haha.0 -
it's just an automatic survey you/we get. I ignored the invite.1

I have Santander Edge current account (sole) with one linked Edge Saver. I also have a Santander Everyday current account which is unused and kept for switching purposes. I tried today to upgrade the Everyday c/a to Edge c/a, with a view to opening a second Edge Saver. However the system won't let me, saying that I have reached the limit of the number of Edge c/a allowed. I then tried simply to open another Edge c/a instead of upgrading the Everyday c/a, but again refused. Looks like Santander are now applying the rule of only one sole Edge c/a. Have they been reading this thread, I wonder.3

Hang on -- I've been on ~4% with my Edge Saver for over a year now. Are we saying I can just close it, open a new one and go back up to 6% again?I can't see a way to close the account online though - do I have to phone up and risk awkward questions? They already try and bump my Edge account down to an Everyday whenever I earn less cashback than the fee.0
