Santander Edge Saver ending

My Santander edge saver account is ending in a couple of days and the interest rate is reducing from 6.78% to 4.41%.
Do I have to close it and withdraw the balance before I can open another one, (with the same £4000) or just apply for another Santander Edge saver?
Or even leave it with £4000 and use another £4000 for the new one?

You need to request closure before you're able to open a new one. Usually takes a few days to complete. The new rate is now 6%.0

If Santander still allow 2 Edge current accounts to be held possible to have 2 Edge savers.
"Only 1 Santander Edge saver per Santander Edge current account you hold"

Santander allow you a max of 2 current accounts, whether sole or joint.

Do Santander notify you beforehand about the rate dropping on the Edge Saver or does it just drop?0

It appears that you can have 2 edge sole accounts, which sallows you to have 2 edge savers.Santander allow you a max of 2 current accounts, whether sole or joint.
Now to remember how to avoid activating the fee 🤔
For me it was open the account, set up 2 DDs, but never pay in more than £500 in the month.
On the one I currently have I have a PayPal DD that's never taken anything and my TV Licence. So all I ever pay in is £15 and it's paid out a few days later. Never paid the fee. Time to try it again for a second 6% easy access saver!0 -

No, you don’t need to set up any DDs.
