HARGREAVES LANSDOWN CASHBACK

Hi all, I took out a Hargreaves Lansdown ISA on 24 July 2024 with the express intent of collecting the £50 cashback [available after 7 months] as described in MSE Money Tips 23 July 2024.
This week I contacted HL to see where the cashback was as it had not appeared in my account.
They've told me that this offer was limited to the 1st 1000 applications and I wasn't in the 1000!
There's no mention of this in the MSE Money Tips.
Just wondering if anybody has had a similar experience and if there's anything I can do about it?

The email linked to the MSE S&S ISA page where there was a reference to "1,000 available" in red type:

I initially thought I hadn't qualified as they didn't send me an e-mail but after enquiring directly they said that I had.

This may not help you now but did you see the MSE offer on the website when you applied? See this post I made in August. In theory, if you saw the offer on the HL website, you should have qualified. However, as quite a bit of time has passed since then and you didn't contact them at the time about this, it would be impossible to prove now.

They have a month after the 7 month period to pay the cashback so they would have had up to 24th March to pay you anyway.

I've had the same thing response "The Money Saving Expert offer for opening an ISA with HL was limited to the first 1,000 applicants who opened a new Stocks & Shares ISA using the provided link. For clients who qualified, we will be sending an email notification. Unfortunately, if you did not receive this email, it indicates that you did not qualify for the £50 bonus." however I saw the offer on the Hargreaves website when I opened the account so surely I should qualify?

I think it was established in another thread on this subject that the offer text was not pulled immediately upon the 1000 limit expiring. You should check with HL, and if you feel you were misled, raise a formal complaint.

They have confirmed that I have qualified for the cash back but still not paid me.

They just keep.saying they are trying to process it and sorry for delay.  I feel they are just fobbing me off

I was told on Friday that they were expecting to pay out by close of play that day on 28th March. Still nothing.

I've had a response from MSE. They have reached out to their contacts at HL to try to find out what's happened. I had a further message from HL this morning confirming the message I got on Friday.
