Instead of opening in Outlook, try saving (I save to desktop) and then see if it opens, as that will narrow it down a bit

Hi
I’ve done 3 repairs using the link – 1 a quick one and 2 were longer ones. Restart after each repair. Still not resolved.
- I can open and operate Word and Excell.
- I can’t open them when they are attached to an email received using Office Outlook but I can do a “quick Print” and see them that way.
Any ideas?

It could be a Word trust issue as another program opens, so need to test this
Open Word then File, More (sometimes More is omitted) Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings.
On the left second one down Trusted Locations. On the right hand side Add New Location under Path type in "C:\Users\USER NAME\ (replace that actual user name so might be C:\Users\J_B\) then tick "subfolders of this location are also trusted" then OK and keep click on OK till everything goes.
Close Word then try and open Word in Outlook.
This is just a temp hopefully fix. just to see if this is the issue.

Office 2019 is now End of Life and no longer supported for general users. Extended support for those who pay for that is October this year.
There are a number of known vulnerabilities which remain unpatched for those not with extended support, so best not to be using it really.
Time to upgrade to a supported version, especially if you are opening attachments from emails.0 -
Sadly I'm at a loss on what it could be, I use Word, but never used Outlook.
