Credit carr flight refund declined

Im after some advice really, regarding flights and a credit card. In january i pirchased flight from cancun to birmingham with a short stopover in amsterdam. I am doing a multi trip with cancun being my last holiday destination and needing to fly home to birmingham with a suitcase. I purchased flights via kiwi which gave me flights with easyjet and tui netherlands, and i paid on my barclaycard credit card. I soon after realised the flight did not include suitcase luggage and i was not allowed to add a suitcase due to the short stoppver for somereason, and i need flights with a suitcase as i will have one with me in cancun. I then requested a cancellation/refund within 24 hours of booking. The kiwi company then got back to me to say that neither of the flight companies who i would be flying with, will issue a single penny back for me on these. The flights came to £1,326.25 which is a massive loss for me not recieiving a penny back. What can i do about this to get a refund, am i eligable for a refund at all so i domt have to pay it on my credit card?

You are not due a refund.
You remain liable for the payment on your credit card.
Kiwi do make clear on short self transfer itineraries that you can’t take checked luggage. This is because the two airline tickets are not connected. You would need to clear customs and immigration at AMS and then recheckin for your onward EasyJet flight to BHX. You should have picked this up when booking.
Only option I can think of is for you to buy and check a hold bag on the TUI flight CUN AMS, then buy a new onward flight later in the day for AMS BHX with a checked bag.0 -
As above, you are not eligible for a refund and you must pay.
This is your mistake and you cannot get a refund as this does not qualify.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

The only option I can think off is to post your suitcase back ? Can you get down to hand Luggage ? and buy stuff out there and throw it away after.
There will be options cheaper than new flights if you think outside the box on this one.1 -
The TUI and easyJet flights are completely separate, even though Kiwi have sold you them together, I guess they've added their own "self connection guarantee"
You'll be able to add luggage to the TUI flight no issue. It then becomes a question of how practical the AMS connection is with having to clear customs and baggage reclaim go to easyJet bag drop, security and then make the easyjet flight.
What time does the current TUI flight land and easyJet depart?0 -

The Kiwi "guarantee" is now an optional extra, and fairly expensive. For obvious reasons, it is not an option for journeys with short connections.0
