However, I just had my bill come through (for a non-metered, residential supply) and it's gone up by 30%.
Do Ofwat set different increases for metered and non-metered properties?

I am also on non metered residential supply with Severn Trent any my bill has gone up by a whopping 47%.
I think it is time to get a meter installed.0 -
Postie delivered next doors ST bill to me by mistake. Realised too late that it wasn't mine.
There's is £1100 (based on rates) for the year - 3 people ; ours for 2 people (with a meter) is £500.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I'm with Anglian Water and ours has gone up by 19.5%.
Without a meter we'd be paying over £900 for the fixed charge plus whatever the RV charge is.
With a meter it's now around £450 (two at home all day and including an auto garden watering system - April to September and washing two cars and a caravan several times a year)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Severn Trent Water - love the way they use "average" increases - They announced 22% average increase - ours has gone up 31% - unmetered Band B property. It was the same last year, our increase was substantially more the average, in fact over 2 years it has gone up 53%. Just got off the phone and they gave me no sensible answers, other than to say Ofwat had given them permission to increase "average " bills by 47% over 5 years and they were front loading the increase. They did not have an answer when I said my bill had increased by 53% over 2 years! Enquired about a water water (2 people living in a 3 bed property, low to average use) and was told it would cost £40 more new unmetered bill! Go figure.0

Percentage I don't know. Hate Maths !! But last years was £460. Today the new bill arrived - £556.95. Non metered, residential property. Its an old house. The cost of the heating is bad enough through winter so its relaxing to not having to think about the water. But still, its a shocking increase. There are 3 adults in the property. I used to work at the Severn Trent Water call centre and the biggest moans from customers were the metered bills being unexpectantly high !

Switched to a metered supply 2weeks ago with ST. Currently my metered supply costs £3.05 per cubic meter with fixed daily charges of 29.14p. This goes up to £4.05 per cubic meter and 41.21p daily charge. That’s more like 33% than the advertised 22% noted by boxerfrogs99 above. I still expect the meter will work out cheaper than the unmetered supply as we have a high rateable value 3 bed house with 3 adults who are good at energy saving.0

I must say I'm seriously considering a water meter, but just the thought of another way I am measured and monitored puts me off. So going to try the Severn Trent Big Difference Scheme first.
I've just had this years water bill from Severn Trent...mine has gone up by £130 from last year. For me that's a colossal 23% increase! Something is going to give soon, this kind of inflation just can't go on. It would not surprise me to see the people rebelling at some point.
Just taking the Mickey with water bills. £544 last year, £674 this year. In 2021, just 4 years ago it was £386, so around a 75% increase in 4 years!. There is only me, my dog and a cat. This is just madness.2 -
