Talktalk full fibre fiasco

I am on TT Fibre 65 and decide 2 weeks ago to upgrade to the full fibre package. Contract and price agreed over the phone and explained my needs clearly (i.e. voice line etc)
Contract received - included extra charges. Got this sorted after further phone calls.

Received an Eero TT router - read about and it it has no port for a phone connection. Thus called back TT  technical help - they said I need another voice line device. This was posted to me but I had to delay my Full fibre install a week. TT did not tell me I would need 3 power sockets! The upgrade install was due on Fri 7th March.

When the 2nd device arrived, realised there are no spare ethernet ports - I was assured the equipment issued would serve all my needs - got written messages to prove this.

Spoke to TT a few days ago - they said I need to buy extra equipment at my own cost or I can cancel the upgrade and return equipment sent and revert back to my original Fibre 65 contract. I agreed to do this has had enough.

Now I get a email TT customer services citing its not easy to revert back to my old contract and I would have to take out a new contract with TT.  I don't want a new contract with TT. I just want to see the 1 yr left on my Fibre 65 contract and go elsewhere.

What rights do I have to cancel? And do TT have a right now to refuse my upgrade cancellation?

Any advice welcome as my full fibre install was due tomorrow and I am a bit lost what to do.

The best you can hope for is that they leave you on Fibre 65 and reinstate your contract length to what it was before you chose to upgrade.

As for a full fibre upgrade, you are just kinking the can down the road, everyone will need to move to it eventually.

I am surprised that TT did not offer their latest hub which has integrated VoIP and a phone socket, but that is  dependant on the speed package you have ordered.

If you had checked the TT forums you would've seen it is packed with posts about the Eero, Digital Voice adapter and lack of ethernet connections.

As for going elsewhere, get on the appropriate forum and see what equipment is provided before ordering.

Is fibre 65 not full fibre?

@35har1old, no, Fibre 35 and 65 are FTTC products.

It can be either with TalkTalk. They use the same branding for both.

Exactly my issues. Technical support even told me not to worry as the Open Reach eng will sort out all my requirements for ports and sockets. I have taken advice from the TT forums, recommendation as you said for a integrated all in one hub - but when I asked TT for this, they said its not available.
I was verbally told a few days ago over the phone my current F65 contract will be re-instated. Then to receive an email stating that is not possible, is bizarre! Its as if they want to tie me down to 2yrs again from now.

    That would take competence.

If they have migrated you to full fibre (FTTP), then it is unlikely they can convert you back to FTTC as that line will have been ceased and there will be a no sell order on FTTC lines at the exchange.

@400ixl if it is FTTP it is named FULL FIBRE 65 now.

The OP's full fibre install is/was planned for tomorrow, so hopefully the cancellation has gone through and they can remain on FTTC and argue the toss about the contract length.

@mutley74 have you tried to get help on the TT community forum?

Hopefully the cease hasn't gone though then and they are able to avoid the stop sell order. Thats about the only thing that I can see why they can't revert the OP to their original contract. Other than TT incompetence which is a big possibility.

No physical changes have been made to my line - yet.

Yes, it was the TT forum and similar problems made me realise I had the incorrect kit, Otherwise my line would have been upgraded a week ago with no option to use my landline phone!
