@ChirpyChicken, I had the car parked on the street in front of the house but they didn't clamp or touch it but then again I have changed cars as this parking fine was from 2020. I don't have that car anymore. Not sure if they can look at the registration and see who the car is registered to.

My advice would be to park the car down the street for a few weeks!

Thanks, I have moved the car down the street and it's no longer in front of the house 😊

Just remember to keep your door locked. Not really an issue with windows at this time of year.they can not force entry in to a domestic premises.

Bailiffs are not allowed to take control of a vehicle which is displaying a Blue Badge, the OP mentions that they were displaying one when the car was ticketed, could this help?

    Good point.

Moving the car down the street DOESN'T help.

While away in Aug 2024, I received a notification on my credit score that a CCJ was applied to my file. When I enquired about it, it turned out it was for parking in a residential estate with a disable badge displayed from 2020 during covid.

I completed the N244 form and the case was held around Nov 2024, I tried to explain to the judge that I had not received any papers on the judgement as it was made in default.

She even agreed that they company were out of line for waiting for 4 years and even questions the interest added was the fine was for £814 but still dismissed my claim saying that the paperwork was sent by the courts and I must have received it and I didn't have an legal grounds to get it set aside.

Were you away (abroad) when the claim form arrived then?

Or did it go to an old address?

    Which Judge and Court?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@kryten3000 I didn't not received the claim at all.

I was away and got an email from Clear Score to say there was a change when I logged it I saw a CCJ was added to my credit report.

On my return I got the letter saying a judgement was made in default.

At this point I read and completed the N244 form.

    Thanks

    Chi

i disagree with CM because this is a different car.  THE HCEOS wont know the cars on the street belong to the person in question without doing a DVLA check and that is only done if parked outside the house on the public highway (or they assume it belongs to the debtor if parked at the address in question)

@kryten3000, it was for Croydon county court and District Judge Bishop.
