Will Ryanair give refunds?

I have bought Ryanair tickets for a friend who isn't 'online'. She now finds herself unable to travel.
The outward flight is still weeks away. Would Ryanair normally allow a refund of any description? If so, how do I go about it? Any advice very welcome.

Ryanair tickets (like most airlines) are not refundable.
Travel Insurance may be an option if the reason for not travelling is covered.
Flights will permit date and/or name changes but fees will be payable which often make it not worth while.1 -
Answer is no.

If Ryanair change the timetable significantly or cancel the flight, then they have to give refunds. Otherwise, no chance.0

Mentioning refund to Michael O'Leary is like waving a stake in front of a vampire !!!
